Downunder that could be a Morrison intake....I've also seen the cross ram available here in the states.

This is a Stack Injection (link below) which is made in Aus. They make some nice gear and also distribute Harrop as well. Morrison is also a very nice bit of gear, but I have not seen a LSx set up.

Step away from the side pipe, you have ingested to much carbon monoxide!! I have never said Fords were crap NEVER! Ford makes some great engines, but what I have said is most of us on here have a kit/replica and that will never be a real AC-SHELBY-FORD COBRA(no matter that you match the same number of rivets or match the blue used for the 1964 season) so why limit your Hot Rod shaped Cobra to Ford engines??? I love the Ford's I love the Mopar Hemi (I had a ride in a Hemi Powered Artnz, fantastic) but I am a CHEVY guy so I went with a CHEVY. So I guess like in high school days , if you want to compare penis size with me you had better stick your stroked 509.

Has anybody switched either a SBC or BBC to an LSx engine? I have a 383 SBC and am contemplating going to a LS2 or LS3 with various modifications. I already have the T56 from an LS2 in my car, so that won't be a huge issue. I am more concerned about the center of weight. Switching from the T10 to the T56 dumped a lot of weight on the rear. I am afraid the aluminum LS engine will really throw the bias off. I could move if forward 6-8 inches, but that is a TON of work.

summit has complete aluminum ls engine, coil packs to oil pan i believe for less than $7k

if you can get the weight bias close to 55 rear/45 front you are doing yourself a favor....

Yes, I switched from a Gen1 434 SBC and a Jerico, to an LS7 and a T56 Magnum. I was at 54.5 rear, with the LS7 I'm at 56.5% with fuel at 3/4 full (15gal) and no driver.

I have the Merlin Iron Oval Port with the big 2.300 intake valves and the 1.88 exhaust with hardened seats and mild porting, they are fantastic real asphalt ripping.

Joyridin,

The more weight on the rear is fine in these cars (an advantage really as vector stated). ScottJ wouldn't go there if it would hurt handling. He's a real driver.

For you BBC guys: As far as the merlin heads... I guess they're OK... However, I opted (and would recommend) to step up to a dart big M block and dart pro1 heads and make a ton of power from my fuel injected, shafiroff-based 540.

That sounds like a good combination. But I think this time I might go with a stroked SBC 427 in all aluminium. And a 5 or 6 speed

My car was 45/55before the T56. The T56 is a boat anchor compared to the T10. I could feel the difference in steering and braking.

I was looking at the Summit engines. 427 with 600 up for under $10k. Pretty good deal, but that is a bit more up than I want to mess with. 500 would be about right for me.

Cobra Make, Engine: Classic 427, I purchased it May 2005, the kit was bought in 1991. I'm not sure when it was completed! Installed GMPP Connect & Cruise 376/525 with T-56 S/M 3.55 gears about 2 years ago! 1/4 miles is with old setup!
