Gen III blocks...
Probably the biggest drawback to the
aluminum GEN III blocks is that you can't
bore them much with the stock liners.
Early 97-98 blocks should be bored no more than .004 over stock. 99 and up blocks can go .010. The only way to go
large bore is to machine out the stock liners and machine the block to accept
larger aftermarket liners, a pretty expensive job.
