Default Cobra revolution

Anyone interested in attending Cobra revolution at Washington crossing park in PA on June 6th- 10-3-; the more Cobras the better- just a day to talk to other cobra owners and possibly a cruise afterwords through new hope .

I noticed this post on three separate forums on CC - perhaps you missed the forum rules which state, in part:

CONDUCT
You agree not to post, email, or otherwise make available Content:
t) post the same item or service in more than one classified category or forum, or in more than one metropolitan area;

Club Cobra - Forum Rules

Are you kidding? He's trying to get the regions involved for an event.

The rule says "item or service" what part of that do you not understand? It is in regard to people posting items or services FOR SALE on multiple forums...

I would interpret 'item' as meaning forum posts, particularly when the rule goes on to include 'forum' and 'more than one metropolitan area'. Where does it say the rule is for sales of items - you're reading something there I don't see.

What part of that context do you not understand?

Come on, are you that dense? An item or service. Not "a question" or "an event". I think you need to turn in your badge...

Apparently we need to agree to disagree.

I'll agree, you were wrong.

Considering this has always been a fantastic multi regional event, one in which I have had the pleasure to assist putting on in the early years, then attending when I can in the later years. People come from 6 or 7 different states to attend this event, so the multi posting in the other regional subforums was justified as some only look at their regional sub forum for event posts.

Just my two cents worth.

Bill S.

PS: We are headed through the area, but fear we will be catching the people leaving by the time we drive through

How to win friends and influence people - by insulting them? Hardly a way to build your brand and/or your business.

It has been my experience that people losing arguments often resort to insults or attempts to discredit those they disagree with.

Nobody wins in an argument.

However, in this case, your very first post in this thread was a loss on your part, no argument there.

Are you insulting me now? I am not arguing with you, you are wrong, I cannot argue that you are wrong.

Thank you for reminding me of my first post in this thread, I realize now I should have posted this section of the rules as well:
s) post non-local or otherwise irrelevant Content, repeatedly post the same or similar Content or otherwise impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure;

Perhaps you'll disagree with this as well.

Questions:
  1. Do you believe the end justifies the means?
  2. Are the 'forum rules' valid and generally applicable, or merely guidelines to be followed when convenient?

I'll explain so you can understand:

Within the geographic pull of this event are at least four (4) separate club subforums. Since some members of clubcobra only log in and read their specific area (IE: their local club) subforum, the OP (original poster) posted the show information in the regional forums where previous members have come from. As such, the rules you quoted were a moot point.

As for your posting of the rules, instead of hijacking a thread like you did this one, and allowing your ego to get in the way of common sense as you have with your continued posts to show you are right and everyone else is wrong and just does not get it, perhaps you should have just clicked on the "report a post" button, and allowed a moderator to deal with whether the posting in other sub forums was truly against the rules or not.

Perhaps if I posted this in french, you might understand why you were wrong to post in this thread, and this sub forum in the first place. But then, I'd be arguing, and not pointing out your failure here.

I find it interesting you prefer not to answer the basic questions. C'est la vie.

Have a great day.

When taken out of context, as your question was, it's irrelevant.

Again, in this case, you should have never posted to the thread in the first place, which makes all other conversations "moot".

I'd like to hear more about the event. We're relatively new to the area.

Thanks,
Rick
