Clovis Motorsports Jamboree
You'd better like the name...I had a hand in it (we're a big rodeo town).
May 2 and 3 at the Bicentenial Park in Clovis, and put on by the Clovis Chamber of Commerce with Rick Kitahara (has a new GT and waiting on a CSX being finished up) as the main sponsor (or rather his GMC/BUICK/Pontiac dealership).
We're going to have a Redding (KAN)-style Friday night cruise around town (open headers, etc.) for a few hours followed up by a bbq at the park. Saturday will be the car show.
Featured marque (Monterey-style) this year is Mustangs. Featured grouping this year is altereds/gassers with invited historic drag racers and their drivers/builders for some bench racing (think Famosa). We're also inviting some of the top hot rods and customs from the major California shows in another grouping (Pomona, Autorama, etc.).
All of the car clubs are invited to have a corral, and there has obviously been one set aside for us...as near up front as I can make it. Each corral needs a "wrangler" (thanks Morgan, I appreciate you volunteering ).
This ain't gonna be some little downtown street or shopping center parking lot thing anymore. A couple of us got together in the Chamber and decided to go big.
Figure about $45 for the weekend, which includes a bbq ticket and a t-shirt, with additional t-shirts and bbq tickets available for $10 each.
I'll let you know about registrations, etc. as we get closer.

Now that sounds as if it will be a really great time. If I can get everything straightened out around here it will give me an excuse to come down and see some of the old places again. I will just make sure to avoid any peach orchards.

Here is the Registration Form (2 pages), which you can download and print. You can also e-mail the event at Clovismotorsportsjamboree@gmail.com if you'd like a pdf form e-mailed to you (a bit clearer) and to get information about hotels, etc.
Loud obnoxious open exhausts are assolutely welcome!
There will be a Gasholes-ClubCobra Corral. The featured Cobra will be an AH-1, courtesy of the Army.

Your Welcome Jamo
Yeah I of course will be there to help out where I can. For those staying over I thought we would take a tour of the blossom trail/foothills on Sunday morning. Maybe Humphy Station for breakfast.

Folks...still ok to mail your registrations in at the pre-registration price, but do it quick! We have a prime parking spot for the Cobra, GT 40s, etc.
