Tire Shop
Can anyone recommend a great tire shop in the Fresno/Clovis area?

For local high performance / race tires, Western Speed and Fuel on Van Ness. For street tires, I have had good luck with the Good Guys on Shaw.

Tire Shop
Has anybody tried a web site called Tirerack? I looked up my Goodyear Eagle GT-11's. The front ones 235-60-15's were $93.00 each. The rear ones 295-50-15's were $122.00 each. With shgipping and handling directly to my door the total would be $481.00. They also list many shops in my area that will mount and balance them for anywhere from $10.00 to $25.00 each. Full set of tires mounted and balanced for around $581.00. Has anyone had any experience with this type of thing?

I used Tirerack two years ago to purchase four new tires for my cobra. They shipped the tires to a local installer who mounted and balanced them. (I dropped my rims off earlier in the week.)
I think the key is the local installer. I contacted them before I purchased the tires and made sure they had done this before with other customers. They had. They did a great job of balancing the tires (no vibrations). No problems at all.

I have bought tires regularly from Tire Rack, and then I usually get them mounted by America's Tire Co. on Clovis Avenue north of Barstow - no problems so far.

I only use Wheel King. Even the local Goodyear distributor recommends them over Goodyear stores for putting on run flats (huge pressures to pop them them on). They are the most careful with wheels cuz, that's what they do. You can get any brand you want. For my Billboards, I have Krause deliver directly to them.
I've dealt with Greg (the owner), Ron and Henry for over 20 years.
