Clutch/Brake pedal assembly

I am changing my classic cobra from a automatic to a 5 speed. I was told that the brake/clutch pedal assembly was from a Mustang II. I was also told that the auto and the manual pedals are interchangable. SO..... I hunted a assembly down, got it home and the pedals are not even close to fitting on my bracket or can it even modify it. Does anyone have/or know what car CR used for the assembly???
Also looking for a CR assembly book...I think the one I have must be missing pages and or steps. Thanks again for the all the help.
