Fuel tank vent

How did the master builders out there vent their tank? Did you plumb it into the filler or hose somewhere or can you just vent to atmosphere with a vent plug on the end of the hose .
I have heard that they are hard to fill ,and that makes sense if all that air is rushing up the filler neck .Any help would be welcome...WD

I vented mine high on the filler, just below the lemans cap assembly. I haven't tried any nascar style fill-ups but on the slowest click on the handle it's never run over on me. Yet.

I vented mine through a hose to the atmosphere, after two years on the road, no problems here.

I vent my tanks on the opposite side of the fill neck. I figure the neck is already vented. Make sure it's grounded while you're there. I put a rollover/spill valve and a compressed air muffler on the end of the vent line.

Great , I have the spill valve and I will ground it . I also have a fuel cell vent plug for the end WD

I am using a rubber hose as a vent.
