Default Short throw shifter

I really like the short throw shifter in my Mustang so I have decided to put one in my Cobra. Does anyone know if the standard T5 shifter will fit in the T5Z transmission? I expect it will but I thought I would confirm before I spend the cash and find out it doesn't..

TIA

Mike

Yep, it will work.

I sell Hurst, Pro 5.0, Steeda, and McLeod shifters. If you need one, I can help you choose one.

The T5Z comes from the factory (Ford Racing) with an awsome short throw shifter. It is not at all like the standard Mustang shifter.

I don't have a standard shifter in my mustang. I have the Steeda Tri-Ax in there. I found a source for a new Steeda for 50 bucks so I guess I will grab it and throw it in.

Thanks All.

My T5Z was a pull from a Cobra. Unfortunately it is not the stock shifter but it looks like a Hurst shifter and I don't really care for it too much.

A little known fact is that shifter will also increase your fuel mileage by 6-7MPG.

I have a Tremec 5 speed, I cut the shifter down and re-drilled two holes to make it fit. It's shifts quick. But. when it's cold outside the shift boot gets sfiff and makes it pop out of gear so I have to hold it in gear for a few miles.
