WTB Upper and Lower Radiator Scoop
I am fixing a 1995 CR 427AC that has a damaged upper and lower radiator scoops. The lower is easily removed while the upper is resin attached on top near the top. Does anybody have a spare set? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

HP,
unfortunately the "TOP" like you say is glued in. It is NOT a piece that is sold with the kit, it IS a part of the kit.
I've made a buck for the lower, if you want I can make you one for $45.00 including shipping? Bring it to Pentwater, I'll build you the upper. What's 1,500 miles!

Does anyone have a picture of what these look like? I had been contemplating making something like this for my CR.

Use sheet aluminum available in Lowes or Home depot and form your own .Rivet into place. Paint them or polish the aluminum , I'm thinking of doing that on my car even though mine are not broken.

Page 13 in my Gallery toward the bottom of the page, I think pg 14 also has some of the aluminum I use for the nose. I use 12" wide roofing flashing then trim to fit. comes in rolls from 12'(?) to 50' (?). A 12 foot roll is enough. Pictures are of Cpt Eddys Or (?) the one I built before his?

Oh.. I already have that on my car.. did it last winter. I thought this was something for the inside the of the radiator like a shroud that I have on my oil cooler.

Has anyone ever had a problem with rocks or anything coming up in the radiator? I was considering putting a rock guard screen right in front of the radiator?

no but I did get a bird in there once.. Now that I have an oil cooler and driving lights the space free to get in there is greatly diminished.

I collected a rather large balloon. Fortunately, I saw it go in and pulled over and set it free.

DV:
What do you use to cut the aluminum so evenly? The only thing I can think of are tin snips and they make an absolute mess of it.
Also I just installed a new VDO voltage gauge. I used a spare wire from harness behind the dash that is hot when key is turned on and grounded to my wiper motor. But I get a reading of almost 16 volts, the max on the gauge, when I turn the key on. Same with engine running. Plus, when I kill the power the gauge goes to zero real slow like a fuel gauge. Odd. Any ideas?
Thanks, Jim

Jim,
Should have it's own dedicated ground. I'm assuming it is still reading from the alternator as it winds down.
Cutting the aluminum? Ue a small pair of scissors, Medical scissors work best for me. Doesn't tear up the aluminum and allows for cutting larger curves. Nice and neat with just s little practice.
