Scoop-whole pic. story
This scoop was made on the car and is now being prepped to make a "Buck.
Painted, waxed, release agent, now the matt....
Removed from the original scoop- this is now the "Buck'
Scoop & Lower valance in Gel-Coat
Buck now glassed in place-waiting 24Hrs - In the Back ground, hanging up is the original custom hood mounted and waiting for the Customers car.
The NEW scoop covering the stock scoop-from the rear
New Scoop from the FRONT- Look carefully you can see the OEM scoop showing up on the inside..
(QUOTE0 By the way it is just over 1/4" higher than the "Cobra" Air cleaner and is about 1 1/2"s wider on both sides for engine movement. When I pop the mould I'll get the full measurements. This should fit the Hi-Preformace Plastic "Hartman" Intake box as well as the Cobra R Manifold! First one that orders a scoop (?) I'll take a series of photos on how to install it on your car just for the mailing cost and the cost of the scoop. If you have basic body skills this has been made to be quite simple!

Great job !
Are you planning to put a twin supercharged motor under it, like the two that Shelby built ?
The one dream that's will probably will remain,......a dream, is to build a Kirkham with a side oiler and the superchargers.

I really think they would fit but until the owner gives the "go-ahead, this is what he gets!

Forgot to list the measurements.....
Measurements are +/- :
Height at the Front 4"s. Width at the front is 20"s. The rear mimics the same contours as the CR factory scoop.***
*** This is NOT where the scoop sits, it is only shown this way so you can see how much taller, & wider than the OEM is!

I'd like to sse how long it is and how much it covers the oval aircleaner. You wouldn't want to get rain on the distributor.

Mike,
Look at the top picture of the scoop covering the old scoop... that is exactly how much longer it is. Covers the Cobra Air Cleaner and certainly the distributor!

Lone Builder
Double Viper Ed,
please forgive me for mixing in on your thread and also sorry to the Cobra forum for polluting the bloodline with talk of other marques, but I'd like to get in touch with you as I seem to be last remaining builder of a CR Sebring MX on the planet. I badly need some info on where to source the windscreen pillars, grill surround, and various other pieces that I can't fabricate or get from the salvage yard, (please don't send me back to the Yahoo MX forum as it is deserted, something terrible must have happened there !)
regards,
Eric

Eric,
AND I certainly will NOT send you to TERRY GATTRELL. I received your e-mail this morning but couldn't get away to answer it.
You wont like it, but I will answer your questions tomorrow morning!

Hey DV,
Do you have any made or are you making these scoops?? I have a clearance problem with the stock scoop for both the air cleaner and distributer (429).
Also wondering if you know when you'll be sending out my roll bar??
Thanks,
Wade

Wade,
I have one of the scoops already done and IS ready to ship? Unfortunately your roll bar has been done....Always a BUT...But then I did my final inspection prior to shipping your down leg I found a major blemish (Probably my fault-a split ) in the part of the leg that would show. I ordered more DOM steel weeks ago (I wish this steel plant/distributor would keep my steel in stock!) and is due in any time now!
I WILL send out the scoop immediately if you want and you can send me a check when you get the scoop.
It wont take a 1/2 hour to bend the down leg when I get the steel! Now that the Holiday's are over it should get here anytime! Geesh, if this keeps up people are going to think I am in partnership with "Gattrell!"
ASAP!

Thanks DV,
I think the top picture that you said shows the additional length is gone. I would need to cut about 4" in front of the stock scoop opening to clear the distributer. Does this scoop have enough extra length to cover that?

Jay, The scoops are $170.00 plus shipping. I'm making fiberglass parts as we speak. Probably three weeks for delivery.
WADE: Your Gas Well is done, final 'cure' and I'll ship it ASAP. Yes,the scoop is made for coverage. Depends on your placement.

DV,
I'll give the scoop a try. If you think the bar will go out in the next couple weeks you could send the scoop with that. You already sent me a gas well a while back.
Thanks, Wade

DV,
Do you think you'll get the roll bar out this week. It'd be great if you could send that scoop out with it.
Thanks,
Wade

Wade,
Yes, on both counts!
PS..Assuming I can get thru this "predicted storm of Epic portions" coming at us tomorrow! High winds, 3"s of snow an HOUR with up to and possibly more than 18"s of it. Now "they" are calling for blizzard conditions. I got news for them, we went through the REAL blizzard of '78!
I can't wait!
