Brake Pedal Travel

Well I spent a few hours bleeding today and there is zero air in there. I gurantee that.. lol

However with the new MC in place it seems the pedal doesn't engage right away like the old MC. Do I need to lengthen the booster rod for my new MC? It is a Wilwood MC with the MII booster. Is there an easy way to tell if the push rod needs to be lengthened?

OFM,
Have an extra person looking inside the MC wile someone steps on the brake...LIGHTLY!
If your pedal moves more than 1/4" before the person watching in side the MC sees the piston move(ing) the rod needs lengthened.

If the piston moves OR brake fluid starts to "Fountain" up immediately then there is a different problem;
Wrong MC to match you brakes;
Still air in it some where.
etc., etc., etc.

Thanks Ed.. None of the other posts offer the tip on testing though.. this is why I ask.. While it can be searched answers always evolve with new tech and new experiences.

So the story is that I pulled the MC back off. I took my caliper and measured the hole depth as compared to the stock one. There was a .307 difference in depth. I extended the rod the appropriate amount and voila. Instant brakes. With 4 wheel disc she stops a lot faster than she did before. A nice upgrade for sure.

and all you had to do was give it more shaft.....GO DEEP....

I had considered being dirty about it. Giving it a bigger rod. Lol

The back and it issues are masked by a cocktail of schedule 2 narcotics and other meds of modern science. At least they found a combination that works and doesn't make me feel like I live in a cloud. It is pretty strong stuff too. 2x the strength of morphine.

I'm just happy to walk and being able to do what I can. Ironically I had the lift installed in my garage a week before my accident. I wouldn't be able to work on the car without it.
