Default Tremec TKO 500 in Classic Roadster

Is any tunnel modification needed to put a Tremec TKO 500 in a Classic Roadsters II behind a 428?? any other surprises I should know about? How about cross member and trans rubber mount? any advice would be appreciated.

Also, I'm looking for a package deal. who has the best deal in town? (Trans, clutch housing ,clutch, pres plate, throwout bearing...etc)

I just did a mockup last week on mine (I'm just getting started with my build). A 351 block, scatter shield, and TKO seems to fit well. Haven't finalized the shifter location yet, so no input on which of the three locations to use. It seems the standard trans mount from the T5 works. I picked one up and it seems to fit the trans ok, but, like most parts, I have to do a little trimming on the trans cross member.

If I run into any problems I'll send you a note. Likewise if you need me to measure something let me know.

MC

I can provide all of those parts for you....

Would you like for me to quote you a price?

Cobraman,
You will NOT have any trouble putting in any T-5 in a CR's. The problem (Fairly minor problem.) comes with the T-56, the inner channels have to be narrowed and boxed.

Just my 2-cents worth, if you don't know Brent, (B2...) give him a shot at your estimate

MC, take a shot at the first opening (forward) on the T-5, I think you will like it, if you go to the second or even third you will be shifting with your arm almost bent backwards
let alone getting in the way of the E. Brake!

DV,
I installed the e-brake per the manual which is the mustang long handle style. After taking another look, is the gear shifter going to clear the e-brake handle?

CobrMan,
Not likely. That's why I like to use the "Lokar", short handle with the boot.
The old Pinto/Vega handle is so blaaaah!
