Default classic roadster brake booster removal Big block engine

About 10 years ago I had a brake booster on my Classic roadster (big block engine) kick the bucket and remember it was a weekend job to replace. One method is to remove the steering column and valve cover OR remove the driver side exhaust header. Both a pain in the ^%$.

Now that I have to replace it once again due to vacuum leak...(damm remanufactured junk), I was thinking about cutting a round hole in my wheel tub and removing it that way. A much quicker method. Any other suggestions??

Push the "Vent" out on the left side. Should be held in with silicone. (?) Reach through this big hole that you now have. Remove the MC and then the Booster, replace the vent. An hour tops!

DV,
I am running the larger booster (maybe 8-10" diameter). That will not fit through the outside vent that is only about 5"x5".

True, but..
It sure makes removing it easier though. With the MC out of the way you can't snake it UP and out?

(Been years since I messed with one of the Big Boosters!)
