Need brand of coilovers

Hey all , i am looking to upgrade the rear suspension to coilover shocks but cannot seem to find a supplier that gives me what i need? i need a brand and possible part number/description that would be great , any help on this would be appreciatted also after putting these in can i remove the rear swaybar as it does hang a little low for me? If any one would be willing to send me pics on how thier shocks are mounted that would be great as well upper and lower pics of rear suspension.

Could Pro shocks not help you? I can possibly contact the other guy that I told you about and see if he has the part numbers for the Pro Shocks that he got.

I looked on thier website but it doesnt show the standoffs or how they are mounted? or actual sizes , also no one here in Canada is a supplier id have to deal direct which is fine. Pictures from people would really help to for mounting etc?

Stand offs and mounts are custom built for each car. The shock makers usually can not supply those. You'll have to make your own. I would only build a mount that puts them in double shear, never single shear.

Use of a sway bar depends on the rest of your set up, and your goals. The sway adds wheel rate, but only when the car is leaning. If you add a little more spring rate, you can eliminate the sway bar. The car will have a slightly stiffer overall ride, but still corner well.

I'm not sure a rear coil over conversion on the CR is worth while. I did it to mine but knowing what I know now I'm not sure it was the right decision. You can see some pictures in my gallery of the bottom mount in single shear. Bob is right however go with a double shear mount wherever you can. Changing springs and shocks would be a much stonger assembly than what I did with the single shear. The weight of the car sits on the spring not just an upper and lower bolt where the spring and shock mount with the coil over. I am working on getting mine modified for double shear. Good luck, John

I talked to a guy at Pro Shocks. I do not remember his name, but he knows many of the manufactures well. Also I found out they are an engineering company that have designed many of the other aftermarket coilovers. I think maybe even QA1.

If you call, tell them you would like to talk to the guy who knows Cobras. They are very helpful.
