Default HELP! rear springs and shocks

Have tried to do as much research as to not repeat a question already answered.
I recently purchased a sebring mx (classic Roadsters) and couldn't be more
excited about it. There are some rinkles that need to be ironed out but looking
forward to getting everything running smoothly. Right now the suspension is the
first thing that need to be addressed. The previous owner cut the rear coil
springs to adjust ride height and removed too much. His solution was to add
load leveling air shocks. Unfortunately the car now just rides on them. The
ride is very rough and is exerting a great deal of force to the shock mounts.
The more I read through this forum as well as club cobra, the more positive
feedback I hear from owners switching to coilovers. I have been in several
vehicles with aftermarket coilovers and the ride has been very stiff. I'm
concerned about this though I'm guessing with the right spring they should be
good. I'm a little constrained on my project budget. I think right now just to
be able to enjoy the car for the summer springs and shocks would be the easiest
and least expensive.
My delema.. Which ones???
I read on the cobra forum a gentleman by the name of Don.. who I believe was the
owner of classic roasdters was using "blue coil" springs and a adjustable shock.
Has anyone had good success with this setup.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance!
