I'm Looking for a well made CR's Cobra
FIRST AND FOREMOST it has to be of quality!
Second, small block professionally built to be in the 400 + HP range
Prefer one without the CR heater- Vintage air would be good
Susp., brakes are all optional.
Body has to be immaculate OR according with price.
Remember please & no ego here but, I will be the one inspecting if for a friend!
If needed inspection and transporting will be between us separately. Thanks
DV
PS. Unfinished / partially complete kit WITH MOC / CMOS is an option! Must have all OEM CR's components though.

I think some of the stuff posted,
(FIRST AND FOREMOST it has to be of quality!
Second, small block professionally built to be in the 400 + HP range
Prefer one without the CR heater- Vintage air would be good)
might be a deterent to some, thinking that theirs is not "perfect" or "show quality".
Just my thought on what/how it was posted.

Terry,
I know! but in 40 plus years you wouldn't believe some of the things I have seen done. I.E., rubber fuel lines, rubber brake lines, wiring run through the headers, I could go on and on.
If this is the way "yours" is built...it's not going to be my project car! If yours could be better??? Well hell, all of mine could have been better! Hey if it is quality, then it can always be made better! I'm proud to say I NEVER built a perfect Cobra or street rod NOR do I expect too! If being shy is a problem selling to me, then DON'T be! Cheeez.
If my name was Elfonzo instead of DV maybe I would have second thoughts too!
AND Terry, don't think for a moment I haven't thought about you selling yours just weeks ago!
Bring it/them, on!
DV
P.S. Damn sure NOT looking for show, the guy I'm trying to help has kids and I know he will drive it! Stone chips, minor cracks, orange peely paint, pink- , hey what ever!

Yea, you are right. I have seen some real winners in my time and he!!, mine was not perfect by any means. It was a driver not a trailer or show queen.
I was thinking also that I had talked too you about mine a few months back. Maybe you will get one closer so the shipping cost is not so much.
I am really missing mine and have had thoughts about getting another one. But the health issues are still there (major arthritis & I had another minor stroke a couple weeks back) and retirment is still comming closer. I have to keep that in mind also.
Take care DV.

Buddy, I didn't know you had a stroke! Un-welcome to the club! Sounds like you kicked its butt though! I sure hope so. Arthritis... hang in there, better treatments are coming!

Terry was right. My original post must have been ah...taken to seriously?
We are honored to be able to take one of three cars! It is up to my friend to pick a
CR by my old partner, or an EXCALIBUR of all things, OR, OR a complete Excalibur kit!
Choice of course is his, but I'm sure you will be hearing more...Until then.

Don Scott built the 351 W for mine - 405 hp & 409 tq at the crank. That was
back in "99 and to date has about 22k miles and is running better than ever.
I was also lucky enough to get his side pipes when he started making those -
viva la difference - very noticeable to say the least. The originals did a great
job of choking it off.

Hi- I have been fortunate to own / sell many, many of Don's motors. Amazing, never one problem, all started up immediately, and as far as I know we've never had a problem with any of the motors! Damn, I miss that guy!
Back to the original posts: We are getting very close to writing that check, one of the Cobras listed has been taking off the available lists!
If you have a KIT, OR a rolling chassis type assembly (Commonly called Phase I in CR terms) WITH a CMOS/MOS and are entertaining the idea of selling...this is it!!!!!!!!!
DV
Another PS. seems like I always remember something later...If you have Phase I and a Phase II package, and you want to get that mess out of your garage-we would certainly be willing to entertain an offer. I KNOW it would be rare if you had the CMOS/MOS with those two packages so definitely call me at 231- 869-4608!

Don's motors might have a problem rarely but I do know that WETDOG (if you remember him) had his 351W based 408 stroker, hydraulic a cylinder and grenade his motor (see it in my pictures) and mine was not entirely trouble free. Both Classic Motorsports engines.

Wetdog got his kit and motor just before Don closed shop. By the time he got it together CR was closed.
So he lost that, and all of the parts that was never shipped. He is down around 15K by the time it was all done and over with.
Needless to say, Mark (WETDOG) was/is not a happy camper.
I was lucky. I was owed no parts and only had to put another 1K in my motor to get it right. Of course my motor was 7K to start with.

Heads were not flat. Valve guides were sloppy. Plus all of the gaskets and such.
It probably could have cost less but I took the heads to a shop that also builds race engines. I did not want to have to do it again. Even still had some minor issues after that. Loosing coolant and acting thak it had an intake leak. Figured that it had a possible issue with the block or something else.
When I sold it, Greg just said that if he had to replace the block he was still money ahead. Funny thing is that Greg has no problems with it at all. He says that it runs great for him.
It's all water under the bridge at this point. Funny thing is that I am not really that upset about it. I just figure that I will stay away from the blue oval and go back to the dark side.

Of all places... "On CC" But we haven't rule out Ca., Ind. withdrew.
We have decided since the market is slim on CR's would also like to include, ERA, EM, JBL, Unique, Premier, and if your really lucky enough to own a Mid-States would certainly entertain one of those in the bunch.

9:35 P.M. EST. ., Sept. 27,2013
Steve has tentatively made up his mind.
He, another outside party like myself, myself, and of course the owner of the Cobra, being from three different states, two time zones have been going at a marathon pace all day working out details.
Another day at least before final plans are made for the inspection. Then, I hope Steve has found his Cobra, money exchanged for title and the shipping carrier has gotten on board.
For those that have replied, I thank you so much for your help and consideration. The first three cars that were found, all three owners backed down deciding that their wife didn't them to sell, or the daughter didn't want the car to go, etc. Looked dismal for awhile. One gent has a beautiful Cobra for sale, along with a complete CR kit. 1st he changed his mind on the Cobra, OK, no problem I'll build Steve his car only to find out there is no MSO. OK, over the years I have found a few states we could get around without a MSO, but NOT New York! California was a great lesson to everyone in this world involving home made cars, but believe or not some guys are still selling cars with corrupt a title. Not stolen cars by any means, just improperly registered.
If, anything does go south on us, the search will start up immediately. I will call all that have been in touch in the order your notifications came in.
Thank you,
DV
