Wiper install
Hey Guys,
Is there anything special about the CR wiper system? I did not get the "factory" wiper system with my kit, so I am picked one up from Shell Valley. All of the parts look very similar to the parts pictured in the CR manual, but when I tried to install the posts (and corresponding spacers that came with the wiper system kit), they barely stick through the body. I can not even start the nuts on the posts with the chrome bezel on the outside.
I may be able to shorten the spacers on the inside, but I don't know if that is going to be enough. I figured I'd check here first...
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

That's exactly what you do.... cut about a half inch off the flat end, then stick the posts through -trim as needed. Not to much as they will tighten quite a bit.

SGR,
Do you have the three tubes for the cable?

I just installed my wiper system and ended up having to leave the tube off between the motor and the first wheelbox because of the tight turn between the motor and the wheelbox.......I had to cut a half inch off of the spacer like Double Venom said and it works good and the system seems to work fine without the first tube.

The point in the first tube Earl is in case the braided line starts to oscillate which will cause a kink thus one more revolution of the motor being geared the way it is will/COULD/ DO ALL KINDS OF NASTY THINGS.
Aluminum gas line tubing (3/8's) will do wonders for the tubing. And is easy to form the shape you need.

DV,
The kit I bought came with a single length of the aluminum tubing, but it looks long enough to cut it into the 3 sections needed. Do you off hand know the length of the 3 sections?
Thanks

SGR.
Mount your posts and transmissions. (the posts), mount the business end of the motor pointed to the first post. You are going to put a single flare on the first end that screws onto the motor via the included bezel. then with a light bend following the top of the cowl. Now you will see a slot cut into the cover plate of the transmission, this is where your second single flare will fit.
Take the second tube, again bending to follow the cowl, go far enough to put another single flare in the tube just long enough to go from the out board slot of the first tranny to the first slot in the second (Drivers side) tranny.
Finally last tube, one flare to fit into the outside drivers trannys slot about then inches long. Anything left over cut if off and disregard.
Clear as mud-no?
