Thanks guys again for the response. I know exhaust has been beaten to death on these forums, but with technology changing daily we'd all like to know what new products might exist before rebuilding something that I don't want to do again for another 10-15 years.
I'm in the automotive aftermarket field and attend SEMA every year for the last 25 plus years. I can't tell you how many times I walk SEMA when I have some time off from our display booth just out new technology that may be something I can upgrade the CR1 with.

You guys are always helpful and I hope I can return solid feedback as well. I've been in the Automotive coatings business my entire professional career, almost 32 years now. If I can ever help you in any way, please feel free to call on me.

Default mufflers

I am not sorry this topic was brought up again. I have revived a 1991 CR that had sat for 25 years. Got it street worthy again but the 351 w just seemed to run out of steam after 3,000 rpm. I never thought those nice chrome side pipes were causing so much restriction. After reading everyone's comments I called Summit and some Jones 30 inch glass packs arrived in just a few days. I ordered glass packs with 3 inch internal pass through. Two hours labor and I took it out for a drive. I am amazed at the engine response now and of course the noise level has gone up, but not that much. Thanks to all for your photos and comments on how to get the job done.

Stay out of it? What would be the point then?
