The one that I used to have was a 1996 version and I think the fuel tank held 20 gallons but I can't remember for sure.

If I recall correctly the street version sb cobra had an eighteen gallon tank. The race version had a 40 gallon fuel cell.

If you are referring to the CR fuel tank, they used one from a chevy (don't remember which model) but it held about 18.5 gallons.

Thank you for the replies , I am wanting to coat the inside of the tank and I,ll shoot for enough sealer to cover a 20 gal. capacity .

Pretty sure the originals came with a late 60's Camaro tank with the original inlet sealed over and a new one welded in. 18 gal.....probably.
231 cu in = 1gal.

For what its worth...my CR has 14 gal capacity. I have run out of gas and filled it to the filler neck. Twice

All,
I have a CR1 originally from 1990.. The Fuel tank is a custom steel tank that was built for the kit in Dakota originally. it is not a OEM tank from another production vehicle.
I don't know the exact capacity but I would say somewhere around 15 to 18 gallons
