Default CR 1991 transmission crossmember help

Just bought a 1991 CR that had a chevy 350 and auto transmission. Since buying it I am in the process of replacing it with a sbf 347 with a t-5 manual. Im trying to figure out which crossmember will work as the only crossmember I currently have is the original auto one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I fabbed my cross member. The existing one that was on my car cracked in the center. I went with a heavier gauge steel and more reinforcement.

Mine already had the motor and trans installed when I brought the car. But it's one big steel piece that's under there, as mine has a 427SO, with a TKO-600 gear box, I'm sure mine didn't come from Classic Roadster that way, So yes like John said have one Fabbed up. The frame is plenty strong enough, to handle any horsepower your 347 can put out.

I have my motor and trans out of my CR1 chassis right now and I run a 351W Ford small block with a Ford Motorsports T-5 transmission. I could take some photos with a ruler for dimensions if you want them? The original crossmember is very stout, in perfect condition and should be easy to have local steel shop fab one for you.

Default check your pinion angle

Hi,
I had to space the trans crossmember down 1" to get the rear end pinion angle in the right place.

CTCR Cobra
Its unfortunate timing because I had my car up on jack stands and could easily have photographed my x bar for you. If it would help you I would be glad to help anybody switching out the chebby for a Ford powerplant in their roadster . Let me know because I will have some time tomorrow. Its a stout unit and like High Plains I have it shimmed down about an inch as well. TKO600
