Guys Bulldog here rebuilding rear end in my car need to know what. Yall think of replacing rear bushings topoly? And also will replace rear springs are those original springs chevette springs ?and what spring rate? Any helpwould be appreciated.

I replaced my rear suspension springs with QA1 coilovers a while back. They are great and available in multiple specs and infinitely adjustable for load, compression, ride height and rebound. They also allow for removing a fair amount of weight from the car.

I'd highly recommend going this route. Please see some of my previous posts on the brackets that will need to welded to the frame and third member to convert to QA1 coilovers.

The rear end lower 4 link bushings can be replaced with Energy Suspension "3.2106 Red" or "3.2106 Black" poly bushings.

I also replaced my 2 upper 4 links bars with QA1 adjustable 4 link bars from a early 90s Mustang suspension. They allow for a magnitude of pinion angle adjustment!

You cannot use stock lower QA1 lower 4 link bars as CR built the bars to a shorter custom length from a Fox Body Mustang lower 4 bar link length.

I just replaced the lower bushings with Energy Suspension (3.2106) and then welded some additonal 3/16" CRS to the top and bottom of the CR1 bars for additional rigidity.

If you go to the poly bushings, I'd recommend the black ones.

Some years ago (caveat: things may have changed!) the red ones didn't have as much graphite lube built into them, and would develop annoying squeaks after they've been there a while. The black ones definitely resisted squeaking better. Internet says "maybe" after some searching.

Either of these bushings will usually give superior control over the moving parts - i.e., less flex - and should improve the handling a bit.

Originally CR spec’d Moog 633 or 663 springs. Chevette overload springs.
