His frauds go beyond his Cobra ventures. Read the entire saga before doing any business with this guy.

I’m on my way to Vancouver when we can travel and am going to check out the molds on the way

Good luck. |
Just spoke with Ryan. To be honest he sounds like a stand-up guy and was pretty straight and honest with me. I appreciated the time he spent chatting with me and sad that he already sold the hardtop mould but he was going to reach out to some people he had worked with in the US to see what options they had for our cars.
I appreciate the warnings and I wouldn't be sending money without a product in my hand but he did seem like a straight up guy (again I dont want to start a fight with lots of back and forth). If anyone has any other lines for hardtop or soft-top options I would be open to hearing about them. Thank you |
Nobody to my knowledge makes a top, one pops up here and there. Normally told just have a local shop, yadayada,"any upholstery shop can do it". Some reference photos here:
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...eplica-427-sc/ Note center forward bar in third photo in the sequence (never seen that) any close inspection you see the bars slip into each other like most cobra tops. |
That’s a real Classic Roadsters soft top on that car. Really nice sidewindows. An attempt was made a while back to make new tops but nothing came of it. MrBruce Lemans top is sweet. He adds a 4” filler across the front. He said he would ship it separate for me to modify. If you can do it or get it done see if he would send you the top and strip separate

Anyone see the thread about someone in Mother Russia who is selling a complete what appears to be a CR fiberglass body on egay?
|
@incoming, Yes 74proii (Thanks John) has a post on here, about that exact Ebay ad, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Ryan was involved somehow in that. @eaks, Most Con-Men, always sound like "Straight up honest guys" that's why their so good at screwing people over, you have been warned. TommyRot.

Let's see, I've got a truck load of musical instruments I need to unload... Just be careful. |
I understand it guys. I also made it clear to him if I were to purchase anything I would not be paying till I had my hands on the items and he completely understood.he gave me his side of some of the things and to be honest I don't want to get into it because only he and the others involved know the truth.
I just know to me he seemed like a good guy willing to help me out and even if it was with another company he would try and get me some info..I appreciate that from him and again if I do purchase anything from him it will be face to face or once I have the goods he will be paid. With the boarder the way it is now and the limited access to any classic roadster stuff it's good to know there is someone somewhat close who may be able to help me out (he is about an 8-10 hour drive away).. I appreciate the heads up from everyone on here about him but would like to just leave it at that for now. Without this previous knowledge from everyone I would most likely send money if he offered me anything.I just don't want to continually hear this negativity non-stop (there's enough going on in this world to add more negativity to it).I appreciate the heads up and as discussed will ensure I have items before payment is made. If anyone has more info or details on soft tops or hard tops I would be interested to hear that here. |
Jean-Paul and Jean-Pierre Lussier bought the molds for DD Cobra in Quebec and I know there is a mold for a top..Jean-Perrier has a DD Cobra for sale on Facebook...514-829-3568...wouldn't hurt to give him a call...Steve

Cobra Hardtop
Attached are pictures of an original Cobra hardtop on my Kirkham.
Since the Kirkham body replicates the original, the top is a good fit. The hardtop was sourced from someone that had some original Cobra parts. It came with a nice vinyl outer finish but the liner was gone as were some of the brackets to hold the top to the windshield and to the brackets for the soft top bows. The top also came with the "deluxe" metal side curtains but the posts were positioned differently from my car. I'm told that Kirkham's post are differently placed from the originals. |

Mark? (marklotus) what a beautiful 289 Street, really love the painted Spokes, light blue (Viking Blue?) and black top, just right. I had chromes on my 289 Street, just too "flashy" Cheers TommyRot.
