The Umbrella Policy's carrier needs to know what sort of "thing" they are insuring you for and that you have an underlying policy on that thing that covers the first few hundred thousand or so of liability. All of that usually gets listed on the front of the policy. Always be truthful and transparent with your insurance company and agent. Never fool them in to issuing you a policy by playing "hide the ball." That will come back to bite you in the ass if you ever need them.

I had to have one to insure the Ford GT. They know that if you get in any incident with a "race car" that the bullseye is 10x larger for law suits.
And yes, it was a two-way street. American Modern wanted a copy of the Umbrella that explicitly listed the GT as included. In order to do that the Umbrrella had to list the GT (which resulted in a premium increase. The Umbrella is not hugely expensive but it did shift.)

Cobra Make, Engine: Classic 427, I purchased it May 2005, the kit was bought in 1991. I'm not sure when it was completed! Installed GMPP Connect & Cruise 376/525 with T-56 S/M 3.55 gears about 2 years ago! 1/4 miles is with old setup!

Insurance Coverage
Give us a call or drop me and email and be glad to help you with the insurance coverage. I have been in the business for 40 years and been insuring Cobras primarily since 1999. We have different markets including American Modern, American Collectors, and Hagerty that we use. We can shop the best rate for you initially and at renewal.
Any questions let me know.

I had insurance with Robin for 10 - 15 years?
I had a claim which they paid quick and more than the agreed valve.
I have a 66 Fairlane with him at this time. Cost about 1/2 of Hagerty quote.
Most of our Cobra gang in Tenn and Alabama are insured with Robin.
He is a car guy and understands our needs.

I got a huge reduction by having the deductible set to $2500 vs. $500. I figured I could deal with minor issues, but wanted the car covered if it were totalled, stolen, burned, etc.
