Default Who has the plans for alignment saver

I found a nice plan for alignment savers that added the anti dive angle and mounting of the upper control arms in Terry's (tcrist) gallery. I downloaded them, but can't up load images on my threads for some reason. I gave them to a shop to see if they could build a set, but the image isn't high enough resolution to get read the numbers. Does anyone have an old email or good copy of the plans? He had some others there too I'd like to get. If you can help me out, PM me for an email address.

The bolts have a 5” center
I’m going 1” up no added antidive
I have coming from Online Metals some 2” x 2” x 3/8” angle
All you have to do is cut it 7” long and drill some holes
With a small 45 degree get rid of the sharp corner cut on the top corners it matches the rest of the rectangular frame
The plans look like over engineering to me
If my wheels fly off you know what happened

The front a-arm bushings are 10 1/2” apart the rear are 10” apart
You have antidive
It should be 4 degrees don’t add more with the brackets
This little sweetie has to much already
The more the a- dive the rougher the ride

Maybe reduce Anti Dive to closer to 0 degree these cars are light.
So the brackets should be built with the same height for the front and rear holes for the a-arms. or use the brackets to reduce anti dive by swapping sides

The angle brackets cost me $17.00 for 4
Go with the flat and see what happens I can make more
I think the front end is good and hooking up the rear tires is my focus
As soon as I get the Lounge painted I’ll post the chassis photos and cowl info too
I can join the FourEyes Forum now...

I’m headed out for some argon and alignment shims
I’m going to tack it in without bracket to chassis bolts
If it’s all good weld them permanently so the arm can be lower and lay on chassis like it does now

Working on them now
Went to a local steel supply and Farmtruck, AZN, MurderNova all the 405 get steel there too
I’ve got some pix soon as I get all this stuff chopped, chromed and toasted

I have a set I purchased from Tcrist and had them powdercoated black back when he was an active member here. Never used them. For a nice bottle of scotch I'd let them go. No anti dive because the MII already has that. No need to add more. Tcrist had a fab shop. He also made me some nice polished ss shin blasters aka bumper jacks. I think he has since retired and let his cobra go. Haven't heard from him in a long time.

Re the alignment savers, every specialty alignment shop I have brought them to said there was too little to be gained and installing was unnecessary.

I'd love them. I'm interested in just seeing what they are all about, how they change the mounting from the two slots/slits. email me kevinjroyle@gmail.com and we will make a deal for scotch or Canadian Rye Whiskey. I'm in Canada, but headed to Sweetgrass MT to pick up parts I'll ship there soon. I saw Tcrists uploads of the shin blasters, I want to build a set as my car only came with one set of bumperettes, and as I've read, buying some from places like shell valley won't work. If you have those drawings, send em my way too!

Update on the alignment savers
I talked to Tom Beroth today about the alignment savers and here is what I learned
The 3/4” x 1” flat smooth a arm bars like mine (RCCs) need them
Fat arm bars with bigger bolt narley factory type contact surface probably not
If you use them DO ADD, Repeat, DO ADD anti-dive with taller mount hole
The horizontal planes of the CR a arm centerlines are close to stock
The distance between a arm bolts are different due to unequal sideways arm shift
The vertical side can go towards engine or towards the shock mount
Align the front end without them and then determine where they fit
Use the Mustang II arm bolts from Summit
Wear a hat out on the water or your sunglasses will give you raccoon face tan

Sunman, I have the plans that are high enough res to read. I've given them to a local fabricator who is going to price out a set and also a price on multiples. He's doing the same for a set of brackets from the upper and lower rear control arm conversion from a set of drawings I got. I'll start a thread on a bulk buy.

What do you mean by RCC upper control arms? I assume that's a manufacturer, but can't find any details with a google search

RCCs were made in Ft Worth and are only 3/4” x 1” aluminum bar stock
They are smooth and slide around
The bigger factory style arms like Heidts don’t move around
I’ve got my Speedway shock mounts cut down to 1 1/4” on top and 1/2” on the bottom to align the shock to the 5/8” mount bolt
The cantilever bolt mount is used on the Heidts Super Ride it’s good enough for me, photo in gallery
I’m putting QA1 5/8” spherical bearings in my AVO shocks
Pro Shock that are the same is ASB/SR5AB58 add a P if ya want polished
I’m waiting on bolts for the savers I’m making and bearings to compleat the rear mounts
I’m welding up the Quad Shock mounts as I wait, FFR guys use them
Upper control arm I’m going Team Z Street Beast relocate setup
Building my lowers using Team Z parts to match the upper
