So, you opted for traction and looks over a cushy ride for your Cobra?

hi Jim....sorry to come back again on this for further clarification...

have been checking the links you sent for front and rear and it's been rather hard for me to figure out what and not to add to the basket...first and second link goes to a bunch of different parts and in some of them, it says rear and some of them front althhough the link is provided for either front or rear...i guess i see it perhaps more complicated than it actually is but at the end, not able to complete my basket

is there an easier way to communicate to get the right shopping card complete ?

my email address is artur.uluc@gmail.com if we should switch to that

thanks in advance

Artur, Each link was for an individual car. You would order your front shock from the Cadillac link and your rear shock from the VW link. If you want OEM ride the Gabriels would be my pick. This should help.

Hi Jim

Indeed I noticed that…one link for Cadillac and one for VW. Where I was confused it how to close the order. Cause where the page lands looks like computer programming like files and items and each link generates 4-5 sub items I am not able to understand if I have to order them or not cause each item look like 15-20 dollars kind of stuff.

I checked the gabriels, I don’t mind oem at all but the measurements look drastically different than what I had provided for what I currently have on the car. If there is a reason we believe Gabriel’s would anyways fit well, it’s ok I could order them as long as we are on the same page about measurements

At this point, I started looking more for convenience to wrap the shipment up more than whether these are original or oem parts

Don’t want to sound too lame so just to clarify, I understand the followings are some of the options:

Front Gabriel 82601 or Monroe 5815
Rear Gabriel 82001 or KYB343144

My question is when I choose the Gabriel options, it doesn’t seem like the dimensions match mine

Should I or could I anyways go ahead and order the Gabriel options ??

You dont know if your old shocks were the right ones to begin with. Second not all shocks for the same app will have the same lengths

Your front shock looks like photo in Classic build manual with the rubber on the rod.
Parts source manual says the Caddy shock for the front.
The rear is correct for 13 1/2” ride length my coil overs are that in the stock mount holes.
I’d use the Gabriel 82601 and 82001. Gas shocks valved for a easy ride sounds good.

Artur, You may have measured the fronts wrong. You measure from center of lower eye to the upper flange where the mounting bushings go. You have to remove the rubber spacers to measure the compressed length. The rear are within an inch of your extended measurement and compressed may be different if your original is the wrong shock. I agree with Sunman on the Gabriel shocks.

All clear and understood !

Kind of confirm what I thought it would be but the last piece of verification in invaluable ! Thanks Jim and Sunman

One last to close — you would remember the rubber parts where you pointed me to Mustang ii (thanks again) — any difference in that in case I go with Gabriel 82601 (fronts) and 82001 (rears) ?

— I am not sure how many pairs or these rubbers I should order too

— any other complementing part to complete the shocks set other than the rubbers ?

Artur, you only need one pair. They go on top of the front coil springs. Let's see some pictures of the new parts as you do your restoration.
