Talking DV, DScott, PeteK.

Ok DV! Did what you said....changed the white tab in back of the gear....that was good advice...it works now...but I had to re-wire the plugs input for it to work...for mine the manual is wrong. This is how i had to wire it.
After switching the wires from the picture in the manual.
This is how they read.
Ground not used...use blue wire from lucas wiper motor for ground to cowl bar.
Constant power is now #149 and the other conected to Low speed wiper power...this one dosen't change from the manual.
High speed is now changed to #123.

After doing this everything works GREAT...parks perfect.
Thanks Everyone for the Help!!!
Snake.

So that's what's wrong with my wipers. For ten years now I've always had to worry about hitting a big bump and having my wipers start running. With a very dry windsheild, there's enough friction that mine will park. If it's wet or at least slick. Simply reach over the windsheild and grab that bad boy and force it to stop. I haven't had any argument with it yet. I guess now I'll pull the motor and check that tab like DV says. Aren't cars wonderful.

Let me try to explain. After much adoo and years of fighting an "intermittent" problems with different cars we finally discovered "The Tab's" function.

Being a Lucas motor, which is used in many different English cars, among others, they needed two different degrees of "sweep".
The tab is how they did that without making two different gear sets or motors.

Soooo when we get one that wants to continue past the "park mode" (More sweep than the little Cobra windshield needs) we simply re-located this tab)

Make sense to you Don?

DV...Now THAT has to be worth a cookie!

DV, I don't remember ever changing the tab. I've always found that if the motor is running very free it will rotate past the tab. If I put a little pressure on the motor or cable it does park properly. I don't have this problem very often but when I do that's how I fix it. Maybe the tab is the other option.

Oh what fun we have!
Don
