Don't know of anyone that makes them. I'm trying to have some made but I don't know when. I think DV was also going to try and have them made. I'll post if I get them.

If we're talking about the front bumper loop, they are made and available.

Ron Butler Racing makes them and also, Kirkham gets them made in England by the original company.

The rear bumpers are also available, as are the overriders.

See my gallery for pics of Butler's work.

You'll also want to secure some aluminum tubing for the ferrules coming through the body. It is 1" OD 1/2" ID. Buff it up good and it will look just like an original does.

BTW these bumpers are NOT stainless steel, they are chromed, just as the originals are. They are also the correct shape and dimensions. They don't have that "squinty" look of the stainless stuff I've seen.

Hope this helps.

Al

dcapo,

Sorry not be more help here. Try the link below and contact Mike McCluskey or Pete. They use Butler's bumpers in their restorations.

I can't seem to get a number for him myself. My old receipts are gone.

At the very least, McCluskey will be able to get you lined up with what you are looking for.

Good luck! Making this contact will be well worth your time and effort. The parts are superb!

Al

Got mine from europaspares.com in UK. They are stainless, not chrome, although you can hardly tell the difference. You'll need to modify the brackets for them to fit a CR.

This may help, I don't know, but worht a try

http://www.bethania-garage.com/body_hardware.htm

Talk to him and if he needs incentive to get more than one, let me know, I think I could be convinced to add one

I have never received any of his products, but have spoke with him and he comes recommended... he has worked on CR's before

Tommy, at Bethania Garage does not make the hoops. (Unless he has just started)

Second, there are no hoops, that I know of that will fit a CR's without doing some modifications.

Guys, we looked into making them sourselves a few years back and the cost by the time you had them chromed was ridiculous!

I wouldn't pay that kind of money for them, let alone expect anyone else too. The chroming is the killer!

Tommy does make a very nice set of MII upper control arm brackets.

The extra bracketry to fit an OEM front hoop (and rear, for that matter) to a CR is not that big of a deal.

Get the OEM British ones in stainless from europaspares (.com), make the brackets, and bolt them on.

Chrome today is a mutha. Parts that used to be chrome are coated, or made out of aluminum or stainless (or the chroming is done offshore). Chrome plating is done with cyanide, a poison. The cyanide waste disposal cost is the killer. (They used to dump this stuff in landfills in New Jersey, remember.)
