Riddle me this Batman

There is this ad, it shows a great winding road , distinguished looking guy driving very cool Cobra down the great winding road. Ok I get the car, I have the road. I want the black spats and Chrome bumper hoops front and rear in the ad. Can I get them NOOOOOOOO!
Can I get the great head of hair of the guy in the ad ? NOOOOOO
What pisses me off more is not having the spats and hoops.
I have a hat!

I have to figure someone made the hoops for this car in the ad even if it is probably ten years old .Anyone have a clue?

Classic used to supply the hoops. They haven't had them for probably 6 or 7 years. I'm trying to have them made. I'll post if I can get this done.

Thanks Don, I am pretty sure there would be enough of a response from the faithfull to make it a worth the time.Do you have any idea about the fender protectors the ad car uses.? I have called Classic a few times and they don't say no they just don't say yes either.
And Snake I am sorry but you can't be Batman we do however have an opening for Sparticus. You know there are a dozen or so dopes will start screaming "I'M Sparticus"

Are you talking about the rear rock guards? They attach at the front of the rear fender behind the door. If that's them you can order those from Pete @ Classic. They're molded plastic with a semi rough surface. If I can get the hoops made for a fair price I will. I'm thinking polished aluminum or stainless. The cost for chroming is too high.

Don, I would be interested in a front hoop for my CR. Aluminum or stainless, they both have their advantages. I would prefer either of those over chromed steel. Thanks............MH

Hoops? Got the OEM ones from europaspares.com in U.K. and made brackets for them to fit CR.

Rockguards are OEM CR, provided, of course, they're not on permanent backorder.

Hair? Why, Hair Club for Men of course. But why do you need hair if you have a Cobra? The Cobra implys (or confirms) the requisite hair in the appropriate location.

There are several manufacturers of the front hoops, all of them look 95% alike, but the dimensions are a little different. If you are confident in your ability to make brackets, you should be able to get somebody else's bumper hoop to work for you.

Thats the expression I was looking for Jack, permanet back order. I have called Pete (Nice guy) a couple of times and he is getting either closer to an answer or an order . I am hoping for an order.
Another expression that is near and dear to my heart is "Bolt on"I love that phrase when it comes to my car. I love even saying it ,it has such a nice ring. I envy and admire you Magiver types that can make a ham radio out of a spool of twine and a chewing gum rapper but that is not me. I was one of the dopes that looked at the Aurora kit from thirty years ago and believed you could snap it together like a Revell Hotrod. Thank god for a lack of funding.
Anyone who makes bolt on parts gets my vote, cash and gratitude.Bolt on hoops sounds better than frabricate hoops,but that is just me.

OK fellas.

I'll be the first to admit that there's no such thing as "Bolt on" when it comes to a CR Cobra. The handiest tool in your toolbox is a die grinder, because EVERYTHING!!! needs a scosh more clearance. The next handiest tool is a tap and die set, both english, and metric.

And everyone needs an account at a welding shop for those one-off jobs that can't get done any other way.

And every 15 minute job takes at least two weekends. OK, don't get me started!

But there are solutions to these dippy this won't fit, and that won't fit problems. The tougher ones are "This just doesn't make sense", and you start making sketches to take to the welding shop.

And I'll be the first to admit that 80% of my build time was spent procrastinating how a subassembly should fit and work based on 30 or so years working on similar applications.

So I make like this simple bracket as no big deal. But to some of you, it is!

Bottom line. That's what were here for. This forum. To take what should be a dippy little what fits what, where do I get it, and what do I have to do to it after I get it to make it fit, and/or work.

If I have a "been there - done that", I'll share it. I hate to see people waste money on things that don't fit, or work.

If I have a "I'm there now, haven't done that yet, have you?" Is there a consensus? I'll ask. There's no such thing as a stupid question. And its the dip****ty little details that make or break the finished product.
