Default Brake Booster....

I attemped to order the recommended Mustang II brake booster from Napa (PN# 5473201) yesterday here is the response I recieved:

"We regret to inform you the brake booster that you ordered is not currently available at NAPAonline. It is only currently available through NAPA's Rebuild and Return program that involves sending your booster off to be rebuilt."

I really don't want to go scrounging around a junk yard looking for a Mustang II brake booster to have rebuilt. Anyone know of another booster that will fit in the CR with little or no modifications? Napa lists the Pinto Brake Booster (PN #5473205) would that work?

Jim

I just replaced mine a few weeks ago. New ones are around, keep looking at other auto parts stores. My new one was the right part number, but had a shorter shaft that connects to the brake pedal. I had to remove the whole pedal assembly and move the pivot bolt to the hole closer to the firewall.

Jim, I get mine through Napa but I don't think it's a Napa part. It's from Prior, the part # is 3700142. If you can't find one give my Napa guy a call and he can ship it to you. His number is 1-320-352-3979.

You could also contact some of the bigger brake component suppliers that specialize in hot rods and semi-obsolete, such as Master Power.

I got mine from autozone. You can go to their website and either order it from there or check the stock at your local store online.
