Question Classic Roadster

Hello!

I am a new CR owner and just received the 95% complete Classic Roadster from CA on the 28th of July. It will be ready from Spring. I bought it on ebay and think I got a bargin but can't really tell because I don't have alot of information on the company itself, and there performance, constumer satisfaction, etc.

I live in the land of ERA and FFR cobras, (New England) and would like to know the differances pro/con. I figured out some of my own including how much bigger the CR appears to be next to a FFR.

Please forgive me if these question sound stupid or novice, but thats what I am. "A new guy".

Just got her registared in MA as a 1966 , (A feat harder then it sounds) and drove her around the block and it appears as thought the rear end needs some work. Seems soft and loose. Any ideas on shocks and springs packages, if I need to change what came with it?

Thanks for whatever information you can spare on my quest to be all knowing.

Stuart in MA.

Thumbs up You've come to the right place!

Congrats on your car! You'll find a bunch of us here that are very happy with the CR car, and have possibly already dealt with issues as you come across them.

In even better news, this is also where you'll be able to get outstanding advice on any technical question you've got about your car, by either browsing the archives of, or posting on the CR forum.

Best news of all (IMHO) is that Don Scott (aided and abetted by DV) is now in charge of what was Classic Roadsters (now ClassicRoadsters2)!

As for your rear-end question, I'm guessing since you found the CR forum, you've seen the recent post about just thatsubject. If you've got a digital camera and can post pics, you may even get specific answers about making sure what you've got is bolted together as it should be.

JLW
(just another happy CR owner)

Congrats on your choice of CR. To some, they're considered the "Cadillac" of Cobras. They're a well built car that should last for years given judicious selection of components, and routine maintenance.

I love mine, and have 14,000 miles of street and road trip driving on it.

My biggest complaint was Classic Roadsters itself and it's horrible record of customer support, and Corporate volatility. That issue has been totally resolved with CRII under the Don Scott, and Ed Combs (DV) umbrella and ownership. I'd build another one in a heartbeat.

MACOBRA,
Call Jay or myself Monday at 1-888-65Cobra, (Pretty cool number-hey?)

I'd like to talk to you about your build, maybe make a few suggestions for you and just make sure you get totally happy with your pet snake!

Thanks Guys

I will be in touch later this week. I'm bringing her to the machine for tune up, dinno, and to have a independant look at the rear end. The season is short here in MA. and I have schedualed her for paint in Jan. Was thinking DV red, (DV's photos) with white stripes, but liked the look of red/red. Will see.

If you haven't figured it out yet I have a lot to learn. This being my dream car, I don't want to ------- it up!. A second look, I always feel helps in these matters. Will give report card later in week.

DV and jay, I will attempt to get you later this week as well. By then I will have a better idea of what i'm looking at, as a starting place.

If it matters, I just saw a CR sell on Ebay for $37,100.00+.

Thanks again
Staurt
