Default Relay Switch??

Don/Ed...

Do you guys have the wiring diagram for the therostatic switch with a 30A relay for a Spal fan??

I have the manual switch working fine but found a place for the thermo switch and would like to use it and have the manual one for an "override"

Thanks,
Jack

Jack, this is the way I wire the relay.

The relay terminals have #'s 30, 85, 86,and 87 stamped next to them.

#30 goes to the positive terminal on the fan. Run the other fan wire to ground.

#85 connects to wire 151 or an ignition power wire.

#86 runs to the temp sender.

#87 runs to the circuit breaker power side or direct to the battery.

To hookup the over ride switch, remove wire 161 from the switch and replace it with a ground. The other side of the switch has wire # 157 which you can hookup to terminal #86 on the relay.

Wire #151 and #157 run along the drivers side frame rail close to the upper control arm.

Don

Hey Don!

Where do you like to mount the relay itself?

Thanks,
Dwain

Dwain, anywhere that's good for easy access. I either mount it on the left front fender liner or under the dash on the passenger side.
