Default Which Air Cleaner?

Hey Don!

Which round air cleaner should I use?
Max diameter, height?

The 13" chrome Motorsports unit is the look I'm after but I have a feeling it is too large to fit under the hood/scoop.

FYI: I've got a 351W, dropped mounts & 650 Speed Demon.

Thanks!
Dwain

Mine's a 9" diameter (2.25" high) that seems to fit just right into the scoop (I've got a 351 using the old (tall) mounts - I've got a set of the drop mounts from Don, but haven't installed them yet).

Good luck, and hopefully you're on a first-name basis with the guys at auto-pep-zone-boys!

I use the 10" chrome one from Ford. It does fit but be careful with the Ford wingnut they send with it. You may need to toss it and just put a small nut on it.

Thanks, JLW and Don!

Don, what height element do you use?

Hey jwinkler,
Pay close attention to the old motor mounts before you take them out. I put my new ones in 1 1/2 years ago and had them reversed because the L and R stamps were switched on the parts. DV told me that a couple of runs of these slipped out. Just look closely before making the switch. Could save you from pulling the motor twice.

Don,

You're right about the wingnut - I ground mine down a bit for a "custom"
fit and no more problems. You supplied the engine for mine in '99.
