Any CR Kits In California??
I am about to start building my kit and would like to speak with someone about the parts they used. I also need to know what type of suspension to use and where to get the parts.

Hey saleen42,
I have a CR in progress now.
Rear Suspension - rear end set up is for 8.8 Fox Mustang bolt-in. Options are 9" set up for as well. You can use coils with shocks OR coilovers easily.
Front suspension - Mustang II - leaves lots of options on control arms - almost ANY will fit from Heidts, Fat Man etc. CR manual says to use MII std. coil springs, but I recommend the Carrera or QA1 coilover conversion kit coilover shocks from Don Scott, Speedway Motors etc. THis makes a huge difference in handling, adjustable ride height etc. Compared to most kits, I think the CR gives you much more flexibility.

I'm in Hawaii so that isn't much help but I would
recommend you call Don Scott. He owns CRII and
was very helpful with my build even though he didn't
own it when I did mine (4 yrs ago). He would have more
up to date info. too. At the very least he could probably
refer you to someone for specific info.
Not much but hope it helps. Enjoy the journey!
Sorry I don't have his # handy but should be easy to find.

I am in Fresno, CA... I travel the state frequently.. where are you?
other than directing you to Don Scott and a couple of others
I can really tell you who to stay away from...
as I PRESENTLY/RECENTLY have six freaking holes in my body, from listening to the wrong person, and have enjoyed a couple of trips to small claims court, which believe it or not I got the judgement paid (yipee for me!)

Saleen42,
If you are in Northern Calif. around the Redding/Red Bluff area I may be able to help you a little.
J.T.,
Fresno. Home of JAMO. Home of fruit orchards where I worked during the Summers to help pay my college tution. Hot, humid, and a nice place to live believe it or not. Ifyou ever get up in this area look me up. By the wat, extra body holes allow more air flow and lightens the car.

I live in Modesto. My Cobra is a CR1, about ten years old. I originally built it in New Jersey. If you want to talk, contact me at Rick@Harms-family.com
