coil mount question
After a bit of a hiatus from Cobra work, I've finally found enough space in the garage to get started again. I'm putting in an MSD coil and ignition box, and I've run into space problems with the CR power steering pump.
Right now, I've got the coil mounted to the driver's side head with a single bolt, but it's just about a 1/4" above the water pump, and not secured on both sides.
So the question is - is this OK? If the mount moves at all, the coil will sit on the water pump - could this be a problem?
Finally, apart from putting in a new manual rack (which isn't an option right now), is there anything to be done about the P/S pump? It's currently using stock Ford mounting hardware. Is there another way to mount it to free up mount points for the coil?
I've got pictures of the coil uploaded to my gallery.
Thanks,
JLW
