Default Steering Rack??

Hey Don & Company.....

I would like to replace my CR steering rack...it feels "Notchy" like the pinion is too deep in the rack. I shimmed it and it feels OK but would rather have a new one....IF YA KNOW WHAT I MEAN??!!

Is it a stock parts house piece??

Thanks,
Coosawjack

Steering rack is a standard Mustang 2 piece, I believe 1974-1978. Flaming River also offers a quicker (I think 3 turns lock-lock) rack, and you can also get one polished from them.

Coosaw, It is a standard Mustang II 1974 to 1978 rack. I have new ones I sell for $175.00. They are nice and work great.

The rack is 4 1/4 turns lock to lock.

Hi Don,
That is the same ratio I currently have. It is a TRW, which I believe is "Flaming River"?

I am thinking of moving to a 3:1 lock to lock.

Any feedback on that change and do you also carry it?
Thanks, MIke

I'll check on the 3:1 ratio rack and get back to you.
