Front Rotors

I am converting the rear brakes to discs, and want to also upgrade the front brakes as well. What is the largest size rotor/caliper combo that I can fit on the front with 15" wheels? I plan to go with Wilwood front and rear, already ordered the rears, master cylinder, prop valve from CRII.

Thanks,

Jim

The Wilwood package is the best. You can also use the Granada 11" rotor with the mid size GM caliper. You can buy it as a kit with brackets, etc. It's about 1/2 the cost of the Wilwood system.

Don is right, except there is a catch with the GM calipers. You have to buy an adapter kit for the GM brake lines/clips and the GM caliper is not low profile and is bolted on a little funky. It's roughly 13 3/4 inches diameter and may or may not fit inside the rim, (so they told me). Another option is to call Heidt's Hot Rod shop and buy the 11" Granada rotor with the 4 piston billet Wilwood Caliper (note: it's not listed in their catalog, but they sell it). It's the best of both worlds (looks good with awesome braking). The Wilwood is low profile (13" total diameter) and provides plenty of clearance inside the rim. Having said that: the GM caliper saves a few bucks in cost of replacement pads as opposed to being forced to buy Wilwoods. We just bought the Granada/Wilwood kit last week for the fronts on my wheel barrel. It was $479. We just been to that show so i hope it helps a little.

The GM calipers will fit with 15" rims. I've used and sold alot of that setup. You're right about the lines they are different so I always give new braided lines when I sell the kit. The Wilwood caliper sounds like a nice option.
