Default What alternator ??

I have a 1992 Classic Roadster Cobra. With the electric fan, msd ignition, electric fuel pump, etc. there is quite a drain on the Alternator at idle. In the evening, I notice the headlights will dim, when the fan kicks on. What alternator would be best. I presently have a GM one wire alt, with unknow AMP rating. Any recomendations ??
Thanks in advance
Ken

The part # I have 20-229-10-1 is from mine that I got from my repair shop. Not sure of the make. It isn't a single wire like most, but my amp meter never drops even at idle with the fans, blinkers and lights on. I was repairing mine every 5k miles.

Ken,

I bought my 130 amp alternator from 'Performance Distributors'. I'm running a Zirgo cooling fan that pulls around 35 amps. This alternator meets all my needs. This alternator doesn't start charging until you advance your idle to approx. 1200 rpms. This means you may see a dimming effect with your lights at below this rpm, that is normal. Hope this helps.

Chris
