Default Water pump rotation ??

Can anyone tell me how to tell if a water pump is a standard or reverse rotation pump without removing it.

I can tell by looking but I'm not sure You'll be able to follow what I'm trying to say, my fault not yours!

Look at the passages that the water flows through into the block from the pump, if the drivers side travels downward and the pass. side travels upward you have a standard rotation waterpump.

Or...

If your engine came with v-belts from the factory it will be standard rotation, Factory serpentine belts are reverse rotation.

I hope this helps,
Good Luck.

.........pretty sure that if the pump is rotating clockwise (as viewed standing in front of the engine), that is standard rotation. If it is turning counterclockwise it is reverse rotation.

And, as Mike said, if it has v-belts it's most likely standard rotation, and if it's serpentine belts it's reverse.
