Default Need a Steering Column....

So I've moved and my cobra is now out of the storage unit and back in my garage! Now I need a steering column. I talked to DV a long while back and planned on getting the GM column but now Don recommends the Ididot. Just wondering what the best option now is for getting a column for my cobra. I really only want the turn signals and maybe the brights on the column, everything else on the dash.

Do you know what Ididit column is the correct one for the CR? They seem to sell dozens of different columns and alot of GM type columns.

I went through my filing cabinet.. I have ididit part number 1120300010.

It can be found here..

Although I have to admit that a tilt wheel is pretty usless in this car. at least for me.

I got my Ididit column... Thanks! I have a question about installation if anyone can help. I have the 2" hole drilled in the firewall. Does the column get attached in any way to the firewall or does it just pass thru the hole? With the Ididit column, do I still just attach it to the cowl bar using the brackets that came with my kit? The manual is for the Chevette column so I just wanted to make sure the installation was the same for the Ididit.

I used an L bracket and a mufller clamp to attach it to the master cylinder housing on my brakes. Otherwise you run into an issue with it being sloppy.

OK, What mount do I use to attach the Ididit to the cowl bar? Don mentioned in a post to petek that it requires a different mount but is it a CR part or an Ididit part?

I ordered my mount from Pete Johnson at CR.. It needs a bit of tweaking once you get it, or at least mine did. But it works great.. It wasn't a whole lot of money either.

I bolted a 1/2 inch steel plate to the cowl bar and then used a stainless steel muffler clamp to bolt steering column to the cowl bar then a universal muffler hanger to tie it to the mastercylnder. The rubber in the hanger absorbs shock and holds the column secure.
