Sorry for the information black out. But I'm not going to post any additional details on the car, until its done and back home with me. The last phases of the build has really put a bitter taste in my mouth with regards to the build. I don't even want to start going into any detail of the amount of problem after problem or the near "heart attacks" I've had with comments like "we got it running, but we smell coolant in the exhaust". And if I'd throw out any of the $$$ that have been thrown at this to get it done
The timeline now is... it will be done just in time to roll it off the trailer and into my garage for the winter
DV is free and more than welcome to post the final steps of the build.
Capteddie,
I'm sorry to hear your enthusiasm has gone south. I hope you get some good seat time before the winter hybernation starts. You sound like you really hit a low spot and from there things can only get better. Hang in there and good luck.
Hey: Cap: Keep the chin up. Unfortunately, this is the nature of the beast, or snake, or lady, or what ever we want to call it, and at times they seem to get the best of us.
While not with Cobras, I have done this several times over and these things always have a mind of their own. Some of these cars just like to dance more that others, and sometimes they are like a strong willed woman, they want to back lead. "you gotta be a dancer to understand that one".
The wrinkle will get ironed out, and eventually she will come around to seeing it your way and she will be submissive and responsive to you.
Positive thoughts are coming your way, and if for nothing else you gotta remain positive for me so i can get this beast done.

OK
I hope I'm really not setting myself up for another kick to the boys?
I'll be at DVs this Saturday to go over the (hopefully) last short list of things to be done I've been down this road to many times to go into.
As of yesterday everything is looking good!!! The new AOD is in and working like a 3K tranny should. The whole "coolant in the exhaust" smell thing seems to be a non-issue.
So.... If its a good visit Saturday? I'll lift the cone of silence off the build thread and take it down the home stretch....

Maybe if "He's" happy enough he will show me how to get pictures to post using this MAC!
I Just drove a custom Willy's I have been building for some time, with some (?) major HP! Pro-Street, brand new M/T wheels(30+ inches wide). Took it for an alignment, Locked up the brakes, front wheels locked and the rear wheels REFUSED to quit pushing! I had the wheels turned hard right and the darn thing, with all brakes maxed out kept pushing the car in a straight line! Dug two trenches in a hard packed gravel driveway for over twenty feet! 30"'s wide and literally about 4 inches deep! Not fast, but Dang ........ it wouldn't stop!
Well made it back from the shop. (battling a nasty cold, so the drive back was a killer)
Sorta wished we were farther along when I got there, but at least she is running and moving under her own power now. Still needs some dialing in and fine tuning. I'll let my engine guy and his chassis dyno handle that after the car comes home.
DV has set the 24th as the pickup and go date!!!! If he misses that date. You all can send flowers and condolences to Mrs. DV
Ahemmmm, cough, cough..... Gee...I don't remember missing any dates!/?
DV
Uhhh Ok....
Here's my short list for the race to the 24th.
1) install 4 point belts
2) install seats
3) install roll bar
4) re-install shifter bezel and boot
5) swap out AOD shifter knob
6) install mirrors
7) install fire extinguisher
8) install wind wings
9) fix tach switch settings
10) install driver door cable and door
11) glue down front passenger bumper grommets
12) check and fine tune fit of doors, hood and trunk
13) install 3M clear shield
14) paint touch up and final buff
15) one last nose to tail check and clean
Did I miss anything? 13 days and counting down

I just finished putting my Kwiklift http://www.kwiklift.com/ together and want to get the side to side spacing set, so I can bolt in the center bridges.
Can someone measure the distance from either the front or rear tires center to center? So to be clear. That would be the measurement from the center of one tire to the center of the other

I'll try to to post more pictures. Right now its ALL in DVs hands to get finished. We had hoped it would have been done yesterday, but.... Now I'm hoping I can pick her up and bring her home on the 31st. I'm hoping DV has been getting some pictures of the last little details.

Guys,
Now that everyone is over the "nasty's" I'll be sending Cpt Eddies car home come this weekend.
Of course that is after he tests drive this little "BADSNK2"! Hope he keeps it straight. The first time he took off two weeks ago the rear end fishtailed in the first ten feet of launch!
I have lots of photo's I want to still post that I took on the build that I didn't get on line. If anyone has anything they want to see in more detail let me know. Now is the time. One of the things I replaced was a door cable that was flawed from the manufacturer. Since I had to take the door handle out I took a close up of the back so you can at least see how I did that one.
DV
thanks Ed this is where I am at , buffing the finish paint, door cables ,door handles and attaching the body. anything you post helps me, even if I am just double cheaking my self.
both of you ED and the other ED have made this adventure possible Thank again for your time and efforts Dave
Hmmmm,
With Christmas within thinking range who wants to be a grinch~?
I've done it to Cpteddie this time! Now of all times after cpteddie has been through twice plus what most owners have, I have asked CptEddie for one more day.
Problem is Ed can't make another 8 hour round trip on Sunday.......
I will then keep the car for one more week until Ed gets done traveling to the East Coast doing what he has to do. Ed even "volunteered" to come and get the car tomorrow "like I told him over two weeks ago"! Besides obviously wanting his car back, I think a lot of it had to do with getting his car out of my shop, knowing I had three cars in here waiting for his car to be done!
After pleading with him to please let me worry about my schedule and let me finish up the car - he very reluctantly agreed. (To the other people including my wife who's car is in the shop with needed major repairs I thank you for your understanding).
At least the problem doesn't fall back on Ed's beautiful car this time! Main sewer line is backed up bogging down the house and causing the shop floor drain to over flow-Is there a plumber with a Back-Hoe in the house?
I just wanted everyone to know that CptEddie only posted the pick-up dates that I gave him and I of course in my attempts to get the car done waited until the day before he was supposed to pick the car up thinking I could still get it done on time!
Maybe I should change my name to the Grinch
It will be done-no short cuts allowed!
