Ed, I'm beginning to wish that I had some part in the build of this car. I just talked with the builder/owner who thought it might be the ign. fuses. I looked at all the fuses in the fuse block and especially the ign fuses. They all seem fine with a visual exam. They are the multi-clored see through type of fuses. Our next effort will be to push start/jump the car like we did to get it home last night. I'm going to take it down to a pretty competent garage that ain't cheap, just competent. They do all the work on my Jag saloon so I'm hoping that they can resolve this without a complete rebuild of the car.
Thanks for your response. I will tell you how it turned out.

Jim, you're only in Delaware, give me two weeks to get caught up and bring it over.
Do you know who built the car? That might give me some idea on what's going on.
ANYBODY: General stupid question. "Flat screen DELL monitor, (Thank you Cpt. Ed) what is the best way to clean the dust off the screen? Windex or is that a no-no?

DV,
Windex and regular paper towels are fine. If you what a second flat panel to hook up to your new PC, let me know. I have another one collecting dust and can bring it over next Saturday. Two monitors might help with your documentation. You could have images on one and your web or other applications on the other.

Dv, You would have to know it was the fuse. I had pulled all the fuses on the fuse block and visually checked them all. I had focused on the center (S portion) and they all looked fine. I took it down to my mechanic (who does know his as* from third base and he found out it was the fuse that Bill (the builder owner Bill Gilles of Flemington, NJ.)
had said was probably the culprit. In what little defense I have left, the mechanic did say that when he pulled the fuse it looked ok but his meter said that it was blown. I'm sure he was just trying to make me feel less like an idiot.
Bill Gilles says he knows of you and that you had put a Viper engine in a Cobra. True?
Listen to Capteddy about that second screen they are great if you got a killer PC to run them. My wife uses a Swifter to dust off her LCD screen. Thanks for all your advice. If I continue to have problems I will look to the grounding of the electrical system.

Jim,
Yes, that is where "Double Venom aka DV" came from. My wife named the car after we were invited to the Viper Classics by Chrysler. After three years of racing Vipers, we never lost a race

Ed,
At least one good thing came out of today, couple of hours late but UPS did show up with your pedal and throttle cable-perfect for your car! ( Shop still here too-what a heck of a multi faceted storm! Front and rear yards had lakes in em and I'm on a hill!)

Ya I know DV and you have more weather on the way. Its tracking over my place and then across the lake to yours. You might need to get that boat of yours unstrapped from the trailer, just in case.
Glad the Summit order got there. Any news on the control arm bushings or the roll bar?
Anything else I can do for you between now and a week from this Saturday?
Keep your head above water....

Jarod said GRAB the opther Monitor so if it truly is sitting around and yopu have no use for it, I guess I surely will!
Robrt/Huckelberry since I assume you are reading this your hood is 2/3's done! The sun is shining!

I have found the best way to confirm a good fuse is with the ohm meter. The fuse either works or not.

John,
All I have to do is get the ohm meter then figure out how to use the thing. the one my mechanic had was an alligator clip for grounding with a wire that went to a pointed screwdriver type of affair. It seemed simple enough even for me to use. I wish I would have spent more of my life leaning over the fender of an interesting car and not sitting behind a desk.

Gas40,
Don't know what the first two threads here are covering unless I missed something.
If you're using the original style harness from CR and you are missing some of the exstensions calling for "plugs" to be mated up you can either see if anyone here has extra parts laying aound OR bite the bullitt and get an "American Wire set, "Highway 15". These are pretty simple to put in and will come with everything needed to hook up your column. If I tried to tell you how to get the origianl system hooked up we would burn up pages here and still probably fail!
Good luck!

James,
I have seen the thing your referring to. I even have one or two in the tool box inherited from my Grandfather. Just never used them. I do remember how to use the old school ohm meter from high school days. I too wish I was more of a car nut earlier in life but I'm trying to learn now. I wish I could be an apprentice in a hot rod/Cobra shop but who has time?

DV,
I'm thinking about ordering some stainless steel cable ties for dressing up the braided lines going in and out of the remote fuel filter, the remote oil filter and the heater hoses.
What's your thoughts on this?
Here's what I'm looking at https://www.wirecare.com/products.asp?prodline=CS

Ed,
Not being one to be permanently stumped, I went back to George's, found that these stainless wire ties are supposed to have an eliptical type ball in the fitting, (Georges' didn't). I then looked at two more new ones I have and they are in there very easy to use and tighten when all the parts are their! If you want them go for it!

GOD #$%%, SON OF *&^%#$, CRAP!!! WHERE'S THE ASPRIN!!!
DV,
The lower arms are more than likely not going to get done till Friday
I swear I'm going to find a good welding school and take some classes.....
So NO trip to your place this Saturday. Will have to shoot for the 19th
Sorry for the delay. Hopefully you got the upper bushings and maybe got in-touch with your roll bar guy. If you have to push my car out and work on something else, its understandable

Glad to hear. I was hoping we could use them. I think it'll dress things up nicely. I'll get some ordered.
