Ed, heres a kicker for ya,
Yesterday three of the honchos from the car place showd up stating they had tried every bushing ford had including SVO. They came, measured, scratched their heads and measured some more then left.
Scott just now pulled in with Bushing in hand! The dammmnnnned thing is a General motors bushing for cryin' out loud. Monte Carlo, full sized wagons, etc.. It maybe a Ford 9" rear end but the brackets are from GM! Sure would have been nice to ask Don what rear end he was using, Currie, custom ????
I've got your car shoved so far back in the shop it's putting a bulge in the rear wall! No problem fella- when you can.
Roll bar: it aint gonna happen here, sorry. The guy that bought my shop stole my bender and the guy I was going to use here, well lets just say he kind if fit in the lower control arm bracket.

WOW...
I am so glad my blood pressure is medicated
Upper bushing (check)
Lower arms (don't get me started again)
Roll bar (crap)
I'll check with wetdog and see if he got his single 2" bar made. I guess we'll go that route. Is there anything that can be done on the car? Or is the lack of lower arms brought us to a screaming halt?

DV,
I exchanged PMs with wetdog and he's getting the cost of the roll bar worked out. So, we'll go back to the standard drivers side only setup except done in 2" stock. As soon as he gets me a price and who to send the cash to, I'll get one ordered up.

Rollbar
The two Eds,
Last time I talked with Jayscobras he said he still had some CR parts lying around. They just didn't turn out to be anything I needed. One of the things he mentioned was a rollbar tho. You might try contacting him if interested.

Thanks Greg,
wetdog is having one made out of 2" stock and I'm just going to go that route. Looks better, grommets fit better and just a little beefier.
Thanks again!

Ed, etc.,
For those that have written, the correct upper bushings for a rear end (Brand unknown) supplied by Don are MOOG(Carquest) bushings # K5161. They are NOT Ford of any type and are actually from GM, Monte Carl;os, full size Impala's etc. In case anyone needs to replace them someday!
Ed, I need some parts please. Any chance you have some engine isolators (Mounts) lying around? You already brought me the frame mounts but when I looked at your engine close the stand you brought is using its own stuctures and not motor mounts.

DV,
I order this from Summit back on 5/11
http://tinyurl.com/62bprr
I thought is was a complete mount kit, with trans and motor mounts. It was dropped shipped to you. Did I not get the right thing?
Crap!!! After looking at pictures of the frame mounts, I bet I got the wrong thing. These look like what you might need http://tinyurl.com/6jrusk
Let me know and I'll order whatever you need ASAP.

I'll let you know as soon as I get the tranny parts here so I can put them all together! We'll know for sure when I go to hook up the headers!
Now do I get the extra $1,000.00? I'd bet you meant more than just an answer, even it it was the wrong one!
OK-back to .......

Heads up...a 2" roll bar is for sale in the for sale section. Chrome. No it's not mine, I just know you were looking and thought you may be interested.

Thanks John!
I saw that posted roll bar. Not sure how well it would match up to a CRII. I'm sure DV could make it fit. I'm still going with the one wetdog is having made. I know he is working off a CRII bar and I still want to have my bar coated black, instead of chrome.
Thanks again,

Just got mine today also
I ordered 8"
Might need to get some 14". I'll wait till after next Saturdays visit to DVs and see if the 8s are long enough. I do think they'll dress up all the braided hose runs nicely.

Cpt. Ed,
Just a little update, doors have been matched and now removed, windshield removed, hood removed. Body comes back off today an put on the jig. Frame to be cleaned up and finished with the front support bar in place. Steering column and bracket has been aligned allowing final bracket mounting to begin. Engine frame mounts to be installed loose, Dash has been fitted and removed for final cut outs. Dash cover to be here Monday, will start the wiring again.
"MY" bushing has been in the freezer for three days and will be installed today for the upper control arm which should be put in today and hooked up. Anybody seen a couple of lower rear arms any where?
S L O W process at times but still progress! Body looking good.
Georges Willy's goes to the upholstery shop Monday. Your Cobra will then go into the booth!-Still waiting for the convertible top, "they ARE" ready to start making tops, still need the originial top for a pattern ??????????????????
Anybody have a tubeing bender with 6" radius die that they want to sell? Not a harbor freight type machine but a professional one?
DV
