Looks really good DV!!! I also like the radiator better without the advertising
Any word on the drive shaft and tubing? I'll call him tomorrow and see if he has a bill for me

Called him about an hour ago; talked to his Dad. No DOM but he thinks the driveshaft parts did come in! About time!

DV, Do you have any other pictures of the brackets that you built for the mounting of the oil cooler???
I have my rolling chassis almost completed, just trying to finalize to the point of dropping the body on. Need to find out where I can get a filler cap assy, any idea???
Interested in taking on the nbody and paint on another Cobra???
If so, would be willing to come talk, your about 4 Hrs. away.......

John,
ME turn away a Cobra!? Cpteddie must still be cracking up.over that one. In all honesty there isn't enough Cobras to build! The only thing I do different now since I am retired is I have (per my wife) cut down from 7 to 12 to one or two plus maybe a street rod to keep things interesting.
What filler cap are you referring to? I've been trying for a couple of months now to get caught up enough to remold the Lemans cap filler, is that the one you need?
If you have time come on up Sat. Cpteddie will be here and if I have (and should have) his drive shaft here in time, I want to fire it up for him since he will be here too.
In all seriousness, I could start your painting in November but I will need the frame for a couple of days as I Install the body, match all the parts and especially the doors to the frame then pull it all apart again. Frame can then go into storage or go back home until the body is painted.
Cpteddie, I think those three points are going to be right on time!
John, the oil cooler is a Finishline model, not any special brackets. I cut and welded in a piece of straight steel 3"x12 +/-, welded it in the frontal area, then when I mount the body build the aluminum shield around the inlet. I'll re-install giving the cooler a solid place to be bolted in. You don't even need to drill and tap, simple chrome/stainless 1/4x20 bolts work great.

LOL!!!
I didn't think you'd be back on tonight.... And yes I was laughing my A$$ off.
John. Please don't take this the wrong way. I think I kinda kicked DV out of his chair and back into the cobra building business. Not sure if he really knew what I was getting him into, but I do know he's had a good time so far and I think there are a lot of people who have benefited from him sharing his knowledge here. Hell we have over 14K views on this thread.
He's right. If you can make the trip up on Saturday, I don't think you'd be disappointed. He's done an unbelievable job on my car, adding things I would never of thought of and also steering me away from some bad decisions (and believe me, I've made some).
I'm leaving from work on Friday and will get close to his place and find a room. I'll be at DVs early on Saturday and leave around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Seeing my car might give you some insight into whats to come.
DV.... Tell the wife its not my fault
See you Saturday!!!!!

Yes, the Lemans cap, was conserned that the cap filler was now longer available, sounds like you have that under control!!!
Can not make it this weekend, have work to do at the lake house in NE Indiana before closing for the winter.
Will call and talk tomorrow. Will drag the Rolling Chassis out and send pictures for you to see, then you can let me know what needs to be completed before hauling to you. This will allow you to let me know how much this might cost!!!!
Was going to try to complete all Body and Paint myself, used to own a BS, but I have been telling myself that for about 8 Years, would like drive it a little while I can still remember that I have a Cobra..............
Thanks for the help!!!

Steve = johnbcom Ok....
Steve,
If your talking about the flip cap itself, check this out.
http://www.finishlineaccessories.com...roducts_id=383
If your talking about the fiberglass fuel well that gets mounted into the rear fender? Then talk to DV. I think he made a mold of mine, so he can replicate them as needed.

John, (?)
If this is any help, it is a picture looking straight down on cpteddies oil cooler. I think what brackets you may be seeing in the original picture are part of the brackets I made to hold his radiator in.

Cpteddie some more for you!
Roll bars came in too-now if we can get the Chinese to let go of some steel! Winter Project: Although these are #10's they fit loose, to really make em look good have a machine shop take off 3/32's on each half and re-assemble, then they will be perfect. Also if they have a #10/#6 combo that would be perfect!

Ok DV...
Heading for MI right after work today. Will get close to your place (probably Muskegon) and get some dinner, along with a room for the night. I should be at the shop around 9-9:30 Saturday morning.
Looking forward to seeing our baby!!!!

cpteddie,
In all honesty, the Mrs. thinks it's silly to drive all the way to Muskegon and get so close and spend a night in a motel. Another 40 minutes and you can be here and spend the night, you certainly aint gonna be the first Cobra guy to spend a night with us!
Company may not be great but Chrissy is friendly! Assuming you will eat supper on the road, what do you want for breakfast?
Of course if you want your privacy I understand that too.

Well DV....
Thanks for the offer. You and I have since spoke on the phone and you know what's going on
Keep me posted on our baby and let me know if you need anything. Back surgery is scheduled for the 19th of September, so you probably will not be seeing me in person until the middle of October

Don,
I certainly hope our goings on have helped some! Congratulations on firing up your beast. I never ever get tired of that part. In fact if Ed does make it over here today I want to fire his for the first time in the frame! Got some more specialized wiring to do then we will get into drive shaft alignment and the roill bars! After that I will show how I do the stripes so when you are done their is absolutely no edge to catch future wax or that you can feel. AND it does NOT include putting on multi coats of clear! That little trick is a serious no-no.
DV
You can never learn enough about this game, just hopefully that each one gets a little better!
