DV,

The 3 things you needed from Soft Seal and will be dropped shipped to you. You should have them by the end of the week.

Cheers!

Been awhile so a little update: Seals aren't here yet but will probably be here Monday.

I know the book call for the tubs to be pushed in and then bolted in two places....Silly idea in my book. I mold them in all the way around. When done they are like real tubs.

Here's the start of the Lemans cap installation;

And done;

And of course the new "Buck" for the Lemans caps. If anyone needs a LeMans filler well let me know and I will make you one.

Have a great day!
DV

DV,
How qickly could a Lemans filler well be made and shipped? The body work starts today. My guy was just going to build one since I couldn't find a source. Sure don't want to hold him up at this point though.

Hey DV!

Hold off on bending those hard cooling lines. I still want them, but I looking at something to add to them to handle the filler issue. I'll post some pictures of what I'm talking about after I talk to finishline to get some questions answered. Looks like you've been real busy with finishing up the body work, so hopefully you haven't had time to play with the bender and the new dies.

Cheers!

Jeez DV... Slow down. Its winter for pete's sake We can't drive that beast till the ground thaws

I saw this on a picture in one of the galleries and sort of got the hots for it.

A note on Finishline's site says this won't work with March pulley, but I don't see why. My March setup is pretty basic and low profile. I was going to call Enzo and see what he says.

I know, I know. If I do this I'll have a left over "red" puke tank. We can always use that in the next project (think 67 stang) or your daughters rat rod.

You know me... Always another change waiting around the corner

I found a '29'Ford P/U just waiting to be "cooled out"! I do think my daughter is going to have to wait for my next lifetime though!

Without having my hands on it, I think I can make that work AND stilll use the solid tubes. A little TIG welding here, there, a little candy apple red w-clear coat and a pipe finish in black powder coat - wal-ah! Maybe

DV

I talked to Enzo at Finishline and he said that if my pulley setup from March pretty much replicates the original pulley setup, than that expansion tank would work. Looking at pictures of my setup compared to others that don't appear to be running March pulleys, mine and theirs look pretty much the same.

I think I'm going to order one of the tanks and bring it over on my next trip and you and I can mock up the tank and see if it will work. If it will, we can then figure out the hard lines. I'm pretty jammed at work until the end of the month, so I was thinking on coming over on 2/7, if that works for you? Maybe the temperature will cooperate between now and then (its -2 on this side of the lake today) and we might see some paint??

Cheers!

Thanks Brian!

But I'm not sure if the tank will work for me or not. Thats why I called Enzo at Finishline. He said I could return it if it doesn't work.

Ed,
March Pulley systems usually create a problem with the "Puke" tanks because most guys run the "high brackets" with the alternator up high on the right side and the cross pulley-belt on the other causing an interference between the belt and the Puke tank. You do not have that problem.

Don't know what other problems could be unless the mounting for the tank is a problem?

Sorry.. I was at work and the boss walked in..

The 45 degree fitting for the plumbing that comes with that tank was an issue. I don't know what its made of but the one I got severely deformed once it met the hot liquid. I had to get a better one. Also it used to like to drip a lot until I put a dose of gasket sealer on the gaskets.

Now its all good and I love it.

Thanks for the additional feedback on the tank. Sounds like a couple of small issues. I really like the look. I'm going to pick one up at the end of the month and see if DV and I can make it work with the ridged cooling line he is making.

Thanks again!
