Yikes.. You building a cobra or a Cadillac.. I put a heater in my cobra but could never bring myself to actually wire it up. It felt sacrilegious.

Cpteddie,
You have one PUSH/PUll switch for the 'fan overide' switch. The rest are the toggle type.
Either one will work-your call, they both fit in the same size mounting hole. ???

OR- get two toggles and they will all be the same. How's your memory in the dark...telling one swithch from the other?

I got impatient and ordered one of each flavor

So whatever you think will work the best, go for it. and we'll have a spare.

Cpteddie,

Switches showed up around 9:00 this AM.

BENDER: What a screw up! I mailed it and was getting a little cranked because it hadn't shown up yet! Finally it came back Sat.---just like I sent it!
Seems the box,( A cut down " AUTOZONE OIL QT. SHIPPING BOX) didn't quite meet muster for the P.O., seeing that the box said in numerous places "12 qts. 30 wt. oil! They sent it back even though the box had ben cut down to fit the pump! I taped up all offending EPA shipping info and RE-SHIPPED IT IMMEDITELY.

Not holding up your job but it sure isn't helping ('B') get his roll bar!

Cpteddie,
This is just one of the many addition/corrections,and add ons that have been done through this horrendous cold spell-20's and more snow here for the next three days!

Notice your gas pedal has also been moved right over an inch!

OK,
The last stage of the cold weather work, tranny cooler lines, extending all the wires to the trunk for the regular harness-two computers-mounting and shortening the wires for the receivers(electronic controls) is now done and everything is tucked away.

Standing back inspecting my work I found a lose black wire mixed in with all the other wires. At this point there should be NO loose wires! I picked through the open harness only to find my loose black wire was a vaccum tube for the heater! Geeeesh I had the heater done months ago! Everything done except hooking this main vaccum to the engine!

I for one hate to see anything clutterd anywhere on the car-a OEM -vaccum 'T' off the booster never has looked good to me and I only wanted one vaccum line other than the booster. (Some day I will take the time and figure out a way to camouflage it!)

My answer: Instead of using a large ugly vaccum T I pulled out an OEM plug from the manifold found a brass insert that was also threaded inside and a very small compression fitting. (normally used for an oil line gauge). I then installed a nylon plastic tube in the compression fitting and screwed it into the brass fitting after I retapped it internally to accept the pipe threads from the compression fitting. When that phase was done I sanded the little piece, primered it with self etching primer then painted the entire asembly with semi gloss silver.

Looking at the pictures you might ask how I got the nylon tube to bend 90's and then straight without any kinks?............A heat gun-warmed the tube to 'flexible' then worked it the way I wanted it. Ok, it looked good but it was just another line coming to/from the motor. I made use of the "choke Cable". Using very small wire ties that I also painted silver I then attached the vaccum line to the bottom of the choke cable. I then drilled a small hole in the firewall, ran the tubing over to the heater solenoid and plugged it in!

DONE.

Looks great DV!!! Hopefully paint isn't to far away now. Weather seems to be getting better everyday. I'll probably be heading over on the 28th or the 4th at the latest.

I need to get those wheels re-balanced and see if there is anything else we need to finish this up. Did the roll bar ever come back from the powder coater? Also any status from the upholstery guy? I finally got the bumper tubes to the chromer, so they should be coming back soon.

Cheers!

DV,
Mounted on the firewall is what looks like a tapered alum part with a machined groove near the top. Is that where the hood latch hooks up? Can you show a picture of the whole assembly with the cam latch? If that is not what it is, then what is it for? Mounted on the firewall where it is, that is the only thing that I can guess.
