DV as always... Good to see you today.
Do you think we can make these work? and mount them in the sides of the tranny tunnel, like we talked about? Might need to get an extra length of cable to make it back to the door latches.
More photos to be posted of our car and Johns beast of a truck first thing tomorrow morning.

I'll check in with the chromer tomorrow. The remote battery terminals have been ordered from JEGS (along with a lug nut torque wrench for me) and should be there in a couple of days.
The door latch stuff will get ordered tomorrow. They don't have online ordering. I'll get us around 20' of cable to make sure you have enough.

I used a set up somewhat like this (Thanks Art Burtt for the idea and picture).
But I used Watsons B19 neat knob assy and a ball joint from McMaster-Carr on both ends.

along with some 1/4-28 threaded rod and locknuts.

LOL nice to have met you to... John
I'll try and scale down the video of the your truck and put it on my web site. I filmed it it HD, so I need to shrink it down some for people like DV with snail access

DV! parts update ( hopefully one of the last ones )
1) The remote battery terminals shipped yesterday from JEGS
2) Just ordered the door latches from Watson's. I got kit B20. It only comes with 6' of cable, so I ordered a second cable only kit which gets you another 6' length of cable. It should ship today and be there by the end of the week.
3) I talked with my powder coater yesterday and he spoke with his chromer. He's saying we should have our bumper tubes by Tuesday or Wednesday next week, latest
Anything else we need? Thanks for the update on the hood. Glad to hear you got the alignment right, even if it did require a little cutting and welding. Post a pic or 2, when you can.

stripes
Hi Dv
I really like the wide stripes that you painted on Ed's car.
Can you post the widths of the lines and the space in between.
Thanks

abram,
The size is really a size of choice. I normally start at the front of the dash area with a 2" center stripe, the pin is 1/8th " wide with an 1/8" gap. The stripe starts out at 10.5"s and tapers to around 8 &1/2"s at the front of the cowl. The rear doesn't taper but a "little" and starts behind the back seats the same distance as I use for the start of the front-at the cowl.
I've gone as much as 11.5"s at the front cowl but always taper them down on the front to about 3"less than what I started with. Clear as mud?

A really neat Torque Wrench showed up! Almost a twin of mine! If you don't have one you will need a Deep Well 1/2" drive 13/16's socket for the wheels.
Battery remote 'Lugs' are here too. No door releases yet, but not everyone is as fast as Jegs! Maybe today?
Wait until you see what I got Wendy!
Like I said Two cars for my son, Three boats, it was Wendy's turn - AND- she certainly took it to heart!
Your car; hood is now done-razor/planing the underneath, the adjustable hood rod is in place with of course the brackets made. All the 'removed' parts to re-buil the hood hinge are back on. It is really starting to take shape.
Hey, if you haven't seen it on the main forum go over and read the post about "Wet-paint", just so you can be informed about SILICONE PRODUCTS.
Back to buffing....
Oh yea the back panel is now complete and fiberglassed - yeppers-ready for interior 'rug'!

Alrighty then!
May I present the next Cobra tow vehicle! .............. "WILEY"
DV
PS. Think of "Wiley" with a "real" accurate 396/375 HP with a Six spd!

Very nice DV!!!! Looks like a good beginning to another great project.
Let me know if there is anything you need ( remember, I have extra parts laying around from my various shopping mishaps ) or anything I can do to help!!! I'm thinking you really need to get my cobra out of your garage to make room for Wendy's new toy hint, hint
Called Watson's and the latches and cables shipped and should be at your place by Monday.
