Certificate of Origin from CRII?
Well, here's another bump in the road for my CRII project. Saw a post over in the WCCC forum about titling and registration. Couple of the comments mention needing a "Certificate of Origin" that you should have received with my kit. As far as I can tell, I didn't get one of those from Don
Maybe a road trip up to Sauk Centre and a visit to Don's place is in my future. Hopefully he hasn't disposed of everything and has a few of these still lying around the shop.
Can anybody tell me what it looks like? Or is there another option for getting the car titled if someone doesn't have the mysterious "Certificate of Origin"
Here I was thinking that the build is in the home stretch and light could be seen at the end of the tunnel and now this...
Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Ed,
A "CMOS" certificate is critical. Absolutely without doubt. When your kit was paid in full you should have got one.
It will look like a car title on the same type of paper. Glad you didn't wait any longer to notice this! Call Don's answering machine and leave a message.
Let me work on it from this end too.
DV
P.S. Don't need your gauges yet but when you decide on the type find out what OHMS the fuel gauge works off of. I'd like to get the sending unit and mount your tank.

Thanks DV!!!
I left a message on the voicemail at the old CRII number and also at Don's home number. Hopefully I hear from him
I'm going to order the gauges this week. I'm going with the "Smiths 427 Cobra Electronic Gauges/Instruments" from Nisonger.
Nisonger Instruments :: the exclusive Smiths U.S. Warranty & Service Center since 1949
I'll ask them about the OHMS requirements when I place the order and pass that info on to you.

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!
I just spoke with Don and my MSO/Certificate of Origin is getting mailed to me. After hearing about someone without a MSO needing to put up 2.5 times the cars value in a bond, I was just about ready to go postal on the next person I saw.....
The light at the end of the tunnel is back!!!!
Thanks Don!!! Hang in there!!!

looking for CR II Certificate of Origin!!!!
Capt.,
Just found your info on your Certificate of Origin, I am in the same boat as you were in, feels like it's sinking after hearing about Don and CR II. I did not receive a Certificate of Origin when I paid for Phase III.
Can you help with info on how you got ahold of yours, like others, I have E-mailed and left message with out any response, now I know why!!!
Anyone!!!!!! Please HELP...................

Steven, if you paid for phase III, keep calling, writing. It should have been released! You might even try a certified letter with recreipt-requested.

Steve,
Sorry for the delay in responding. Work had me out of town. I definitely know what your going through and the frustration. I ended up calling Don 6 times a day. 3 voicemail's at the house and 3 more at the shop number. I think I just got a break on the 4th day when leaving a really heart felt message at the shop # ( it probably sounded like I was crying ) that Don picked up the phone and said he was just going through my paperwork. I think Don really wants to do right by everybody he can.
That being said...
As others have said, I think I would start out with a registered letter. At least you will get verification it got delivered. After that... Well. I was prepared to take a road trip to MN

Ed,
Just to let you know, I sent a last ditch effort E-mail to Don to see if I would get a response before I tried the Certified Letter, it worked. I have the Certificate of Origin to be mailed to me this week!!!!!
Don came through again, hope he comes out of this OK!!!!
Thanks,
Steve Townsend

Well Done Captain Eddie. It must be a good feeling that you have the one thing that could have held you back or at least been a big hassle.
