Much different, not better just different.
Gauges, lights etc, just make sure they are no higher than a half inch from the top or they will hit the cowl bar! Lay your dash in place, even without the body. then use the steering column hole to mount your three lights above it. If you do it first without the dash being in place you will driill them at an uphill angle! Usually the High beam will be just a little higher than the other two. Remember the 1/2" rule!
Carpet schematic, was NEVER close to begin with. Either an interior shop or if you can borrow someones and make life easy!
Gauges, just use your imagination! Lay them out like you would like them!
