You are no where near the point of being ready to make a decision. It is a buyers market whatever great deal you may have found will be a better deal next month. I have no doubt there are a couple CRII and FFR as nice as a SPF but it probably less than 1 for every 250 of the others where every spf is nice mainely because it is factory built. If you have to buy a cobra in the very near future then do yourself a favor and either buy a Superformance or a Backdraft, or an ERA$$$.
1) Factory assembled rollers
2) hold resale value as best as be expected in todays market, at one time they were worth more than you paid for them.
3) Your not putting your life in a shadetree mechanics hands.
I have driven a ffr I did not think was safe to drive on a farm, once again the builder was an idiot, I have seen a couple CRII but never driven any. Unless the car you are looking at is less than $20k then do yourself a favor and keep asking questions here, you definelty came to the right place and most people are not aholes like me.

I agree with MM (somewhat).
With the current market conditions, if you are looking to buy one now, look for a car like SPF or ERA. Backdraft is nice and I don't want to offend anyone but I don't like the shape of the body. Personal preference, they're just not my taste.
I driven a couple FFR's and found them to be a little small in the cockpit due to the large center tunnel. How good they are always depends on the builder of course.
CRII's I know nothing about, so sorry about not having any info.

Right now (at this point anyway) CRII is out of buisness. Any car, no matter what brand is as good as the person putting it together. Don't always blame a crappy car on the manufacture of the kit. All brands of cars have their good points and bad points. As I have a CR and built it, I can say that it is a darn good car.
A lot of kits are designed around doner parts but you do not have to build them that way. They are designed that way to keep the build costs down.
I have never driven any other brand kit so I can not tell you which one is the easiest to put together.
Where in Ca. are you? You can come look at my Cobra anytime.

FFR, best value for the money. The car is well engineered and can be built for excellent performance on the track because of its low weight. However if you want the car as an investment project rather than a hobby, buy a Kirkham, ERA or Superformance.

RPK, Everything that tcrist said is absolutely spot on. I have a CRll and got lucky because the person who put the kit together did a good job. You really should slow down, look at the various threads on this site and make a decision based on what you want. You are in a great position because the man toy market is down right now. You have that on your side. As you live in Ca you will want to make sure the car is SB 100 approved. Good luck in your purchase.

http://www.erareplicas.com/ Used ERAs come up from time to time on CobraCountry and the economy is helping you there with the price (usually). A new ERA still has a healthy waiting period and prices remain the same.
