brake calliper
Hi,
I am from Germany and 3 years ago I bought a used Classic Roadster.
Now I have the problem that one break calliper is broken and I do not know what type it is and who is the manufacturer.
The same problem are the break pads.
So maybe you can help me.
I attached some pictures.

Welcome to Club cobra.
Your pictures can not be seen. Try putting the pictures in your photo gallery and we can see them there. Or link them a different way.
If you tried to just copy and paste them to the post, that will not work.
Also put a few pictures of your Cobra in the photo gallery.
The pictures should be of the front, back, both sides, interior and engine compartment.
The reason for the pictures of your Cobra is that there have been a few Cobra owners that has thought their Cobra was a Classic Roadster and they were not. Not saying that yours is not, we just want to be sure and of course we like to look at them all anyway.
Do you know what year your cobra was manufactured?
Do you know if it is a Classic Roadster LDT or a Classic roadster II?

I changed the photo gallery to public, so I think that they are visible now
As the car is at the moment in the garage more pictures will follow.
The car was manufactured 1997

1997 is after Don changed the brakes to Corvette rear brakes. (I assume it is a rear caliber?) (Yes I see on the tag it is CR LTD, but Don and I were both trying to help out the new owners to upgrade the cars.) I think it is a 1997 GM Caliber. Somebody set me straight! Thomas take your caliber and your shoes to a good parts store-they will be able to ID for you!

Can see the pictures now. Not sure on what it is but mine came with stock Ford Mustang II front disc brakes not sure about the rears. Maybe someone with more experiance than I will chime in.

Hey I have a CR built in Fargo in 1991. Is it a LTD? How do you tell? I am assuming my "running gear" is from a Mustang II but not sure. Have not had to do the brakes. I have disc front and drum rear.

I have the '97 model as well with discs in front and drums in rear. I don't know who's or what about them. I assumed Mustang II.

Just another 2-cents...
If it is disc/drum then it may very well be M-II
If it is Disc/Disc....It most likelty is NOT M-II
Just something to look into before it needs replacing.

I have a '99 and put the Granada rotors on the front with GM calipers and
brake pads (if my memory serves me correctly, it was a while ago).

Hi Ed, it should be a rear caliper indicated by the bracket for the handbrake cable, or isn't it?
Also, there is a gear inside the caliper which could be a ratchet mechanism to adjust.
I refered him to clubcobra, because in Germany nobody could help.
Unfortunately there is no decent part house either were you could take the sample to.
Thomas, try faxing a copy of your brake pad outlines to the brake people in the UK.
